Wish Bill could come back :C
If a more left wing candidate popped up (which I doubt), I would vote for him/her instead of obama though.

Social liberalism can be good. Remember that, but liberals just plain suck at economics. I'm sorry but it's true. Conservatives are always better when it comes to economics.

Yes, spending billions of dollars on a death ray is a good use of money when you have a debt, related to a war.

Actually, it was a string of conservative presidents who brought the economy down. See, trickle-down is all fair and good if the corporate elite were to be trusted. However, they can't, and we really don't want handouts anyways. All we want is a decent wage.
But, instead, the rich abuse the free market economy, and kill off the consumer. Though, what Reagan missed, was that the middle class consumer makes up the backbone of the economy. When people benefit, everyone else benefits as a result.
You could say that liberals haven't provided many sterling solutions, but the same could be said for everyone, since all that's been happening is "MY PARTY HAS A BIGGER DICK THAN YOUR PARTY" and "ABORTION GAY MARRIAGE SOCIAL ISSUES IGNORE REAL PROBLEMS".
In fact, you could say that the "liberal" economic model as you might call it, is simply classical economics.
People get paid enough money > People can buy stuff
Because, lets face it, we all want monumental amounts of stuff. We always need more stuff, more space for our more stuff. Unlimited wants being somewhat satisfied by limited resources. And since everyone wants stuff, they will spend the money from their paycheck on nothing other than stuff.
This model has worked significantly well for the United States from the Industrial Revolution to the Great Depression. And then, with reform, the same model worked again from the 1930s until the 80s, when Reagan introduced his faith-based system of economics. This system has failed the American people, and so it's high time we went back to classical economics.

That's funny because it didn't.
also, joes33431, i have no idea what you're talking about.
If somebody posts some evidence that lack of regulation lead to the housing bubble I'll be glad to start that debate in this dead ass topic.

Everyone knows the cause was too much regulation
We didn't let the trickle happen
[editline]23rd April 2011[/editline]
Why couldn't we just TRICKLE
They haven't really made the best decisions in a majority in the past few elections.
A lot of birthers voted for McCain and he was born in Panama.
I thought panama was another country between the two Americas that had a big arse channel in it, not a state of the USA
How was he allowed to run?

I always thought it had to be a state
Panama isn't even on the list of states and territories whereas Hawaii is

Nice but i don't think you have proven any point.
Have the Republicans voted in a sane manner since the mid 20th century?
The last good republican president was Teddy Roosevelt

At first I thought it was real and that Alan Alda was a conservative and I was like "NOOOOOOOOOO" Then I realized it was a movie or a tv show or something.

"Republicans simply don't know how to manage the economy. They're so busy operating the trickle-down theory, giving the richest corporations the biggest break, that the whole thing goes to hell in a handbasket." ~Lyndon B. Johnson
Your economics in one quote.

In short, companies were able to give out mortgages to everyone and disregarded risk. A certain degree of regulation would have stopped this from happening.
