I'm pretty sure she can perfectly recover from a mental shock without suing an entire company.

Well there IS a difference between being in WAR and being in a PLANE.
look at that link please, you have no fucking clue what PTSD is, how it works, or what it causes.
She needs to calm the fuck down.
Seriously mental trauma for having been in a plane with turbulences. Chill the fuck out, you're alive and in one piece.
You could say the same about soldiers who survive intense mortar strikes. Sure, they got out of it alive, but after what? Holding onto dear life while having a mental shitstorm, begging that the terror ends soon. You don't need to even have a scratch on you to develop shellshock.
It's just laughable how she wants to instantly sue THREE COMPANIES for her PTSD. How is that going to make her feel better ? She's not gonna win any sort of satisfaction to know the responsible got punished, she's just going to get lots of money out of them. Three different companies put in the same lawsuit for god's sake ! Why does she need to sue everyone responsible so much, if the only thing she needs is a good psychologist and time ?
That plane never should have left the ground if there was if there was convective conditions.

Because it's affecting her ability to get a job and live her life.

OMG THREE AIRLINES
Oh wait more proof you didn't read
[release]In addition to Continental, the lawsuit also names Colgan Air, Pinnacle Airlines and United Continental Holdings. United and Continental announced a merger in 2010. Colgan Air, which was operating the aircraft for Continental, is owned by Pinnacle Airlines.[/release]

Oh wait more proof you didn't read
[release]O'Neal said she has not been able to fly since, which she believes has damaged her job prospects and future earnings potential.[/release]
Title changed to the one in the article.

Who knows? She could use that money to see a psychologist. I really doubt you understand what has happened here, and all you're seeing is a woman suing companies "for a little turbulence."
I read it, and that chick is over-reacting. There's being scared of flying after problems with the plane (I've been in a plane that landed during that Xynthia hurricane, shit went down a lot), and there is suing the entire company and blame them from being scared of getting in a plane again.
If this happened to me I wouldn't sue the company because that would just be greedy. No one died, she wasn't even harmed. I doubt she's suing the company because she cares for the life of lots of innocents that might take the same company to fly later on, there's money involved and she knows it.
But she was harmed. She's been diagnosed with PTSD, and clearly suffers from the airline's poor choice to fly in unsafe conditions.

now my callout isn't as scathing

There's a huge difference between war and a plane going up and down. She's suing the pilots while they did an amazing job landing the thing and not crashing it, the whole lawsuit is just unnecessary.
As I said, I've been in an eight hour long flight, three of which were in turbulences, and at least one was in terrible flight conditions, because the Xynthia hurricane was very close. Most of the people in the plane were terrified, and when the plane landed, a few cried, other sheered at the pilots, and once we got out of here, everyone just sat down and chilled out. It was last year and I know one of the persons who was already extremely phobic of plane flights was utterly traumatized by the event, yet it took her less than a year to recover, even though she's one of the most mentally fragile person I know. And she didn't even think ONCE about suing the Lufthansa because we almost crashed, because it's unnecessary - she didn't need any money from them to recover, she only needed herself, friends and time to think about it.

Then she needs to see a psychologist, and maybe ask the airline for reparation, instead of suing three companies, just because they somewhat had a link in the story.

The point of the lawsuit was the plane never should have been in the air to begin with. You really aren't getting this

Instantly? The flight was in 2009.
The point of the lawsuit was the plane never should have been in the air to begin with. You really aren't getting this
And what will be at the end of the lawsuit ? Money.
It's not because she brings three companies into court that she will suddenly go back in time to see the plane stay on the tarmac.
Also stop believing I'm saying that because I only read the title, it's not because the OP said it was a bitch that the fact I'm against the idea of suing makes me an asshole as well.

Honestly, if you are so incapable of reading I'm going to have to be patronising and write this with big letters.
Woman got on plane

Plane should not have been in the air in the first place

As a direct consequence multiple lives including hers were in danger

The fact that her life was threatened in any way no matter how insignificant, on top of the trauma sustained shows more than adequate grounds to sue, as it was a failure from the companies involved to ensure the passengers' safety
Honestly how fucking hard is this.

Medication and therapy aren't free. Our government doesn't supply us with healthcare, so she is probably having to pay out of pocket for this, thats probably one reason why she is suing the company. How can you be this dumb.

Who do you think diagnosed her with PTSD in the first place? Suing them, in my opinion, is asking for reparations. You can't just contact a business and say, "hey, I experienced trauma at your hands, I want some reparations."
Ganerumo is quite a good troll. He's caused quite a bit of anger.
On an on-topic note, I really feel sorry for this woman, having PTSD from a 20 minute plane flight. It's also a miracle that most people made it out unscathed physically.
I'm not saying she was in ultimate peril or anything, but there is a point where you have to say "These conditions are fucked, the plane can't fly".
Who do you think diagnosed her with PTSD in the first place? Suing them, in my opinion, is asking for reparations. You can't just contact a business and say, "hey, I experienced trauma at your hands, I want some reparations."
You can still try. I know it worked with Lufthansa back when that Hurricane broke out.
Suing isn't going to make her feel any better.

I think developing PTSD on what was supposed to be a routine 20 minute commercial flight that took off in tornado conditions and then had to stay in the air for 2 hours while failing an emergency landing once
is very very very good grounds to sue
I wish all lawsuits were as cut and dry as this one

what makes you an ass hole is because you're saying this woman is over reacting when she developed Post traumatic stress disorder

2 hours flight.
And I'm the one misreading.
Stop thinking I'm a troll because I don't have the same opinion as yours. I don't think she's a total bitch that should shut the fuck up and go in the kitchen or any crap like that, it's just that suing three companies for a flight that occurred two years ago in the hope she'll feel better is both vain and greedy.
what makes you an ass hole is because you're saying this woman is over reacting when she developed Post traumatic stress disorder
The fact of developing PTSD in most cases is already over-reacting. She didn't see anything shocking, she didn't do anything shocking, she just got near death and because she lives in a modern world where we constantly live away from obvious danger, she flipped out.
It's like people who think they are sick so bad they actually get sick. I think she just didn't have proper mental support once she got out of that plane.
