2 hours flight.
And I'm the one misreading.
Stop thinking I'm a troll because I don't have the same opinion as yours. I don't think she's a total bitch that should shut the fuck up and go in the kitchen or any crap like that, it's just that suing three companies for a flight that occurred two years ago in the hope she'll feel better is both vain and greedy.
Ok, Faze, please make the article in bold, and bright read so Ganerumo will fucking read it.
The flight was supposed to be 20 minutes. It took 2 hours BECAUSE THE PLANE WAS FLYING IN TORNADO CONDITIONS

You ARE misreading.
It was supposed to be a 20 minute flight but due to the weather conditions it turned into a 2 hour flight. That plane never should have taken off. The pilot should have known that and so should the airport.
The fact of developing PTSD in most cases is already over-reacting.
It's like people who think they are sick so bad they actually get sick. I think she just didn't have proper mental support once she got out of that plane.
ohhhhhhhhhh you didn't

With any money won from the lawsuit, she could, indeed, feel better. Like someone else said, healthcare in America isn't free. She's had to pay at least for therapy, and it's also hurt her job prospects in her opinion. I'd say a ton of money wouldn't necessarily fix everything, but it would help her get more treatment for the disorder she received because of the three companies, and would help with any economic troubles she's going through.
ohhhhhhhhhh you didn't
heh I was trying to bait him into passing off PTSD as a fake thing for this whole thread
true colours
Reminded me of this.

You should try reading sometime.
It's quite rewarding.
And also find the world outside of your basement. That's also quite rewarding.

it was a 20 minute flight according to what was written on the itinerary that she paid for, and according to everyone's knowledge at the time of boarding
the fact it became 2 hours should alone be grounds for a refund
when it becomes PTSD due to the pilot flying in tornadoes though, that's lawsuit time
Feed the troll Ganerumo gents, let's get back to the topic.
Seeing as there isn't really any other way to sue an airline company, cause you know, you might not survive? I think this is a solid case.

Which by the way gives another reason to change the shitty health care system so people don't have to go through long legal procedures and lawsuits that will affect more people than firstly intended when they need help.

Even if she didn't have to pay for treatment she'd have grounds for a lawsuit
Universal healthcare doesn't make up for not being able to get on a plane anymore

This is the problem with planes. You either die (almost) instantly, or survive, the chances of surviving a plane crash are very small (and so is the odds of it crashing in the first place). There IS a responsible in that case, but they surely aren't in the three companies she's suing. How about suing the company who hired the pilot and ask for the guy to be properly punished ? It would avoid much trouble on every side.

Yeah it actually does. If her career prospects are ruined because she can't fly a settlement will make up for it.
Why can't you comprehend basic things I don't get it
Well, I'm going they're going to be making passengers sign 'shit your pants' waivers.
People have sued for even dumber things. One person I know was sued by his neighbor because his neighbor lived in, basically, a ditch and he lived on a hill next to him. When winter passed, the snow would melt and the water would flow into the neighbor's yard via gravity.
Fun fact: The area where this happened is known for its swamps.
did this happen to be his third house in that location?
What was her job?
And also do Americans seriously fly places they can drive within two hours?
This thread gave me PTSD after seeing all the stupid.
I'm suing all of you.

If it was a business trip, 4 hours round trip just isn't feasible
If it was a business trip, 4 hours round trip just isn't feasible
Uh... how not? Business trip flights can take tens of hours.
It's like an hour drive from my house to work, or two hours round trip.
Surely if she couldn't be bothered driving, she could video conference?
[editline]14th October 2011[/editline]
Leave at 7am. Start working at 9am. Drive home at 5pm. Be back by 7pm.
seems reasonable to me?
she didn't do anything shocking, she just got near death
I wish I was a hard-cold-loose-cannon-cop-on-the-edge like you and didn't think that near death is shocking.

It was 2009, business conferencing wasn't that big back then, it was supposed to be a 20 minute flight, not a flight from Texas to China.
I wish I was a hard-cold-loose-cannon-cop-on-the-edge like you and didn't think that near death is shocking.
It's shocking, but it's not traumatizing to the point of scarring you to life. It would be if she actually SAW someone die.
I almost got ran over by cars a lot of time, almost drowned in a pool and have been in a plane that almost crashed. Yes, I was scared shitless and yet I didn't develop any PTSD.
Plus all the times I got beat up in high school and middle school which could have ended badly because kids can't control their strength and almost killed me a few times because I got hit in the chest while having a poor breathe.
It's shocking, but it's not traumatizing to the point of scarring you to life. It would be if she actually SAW someone die.
Oh so now you're a doctor
Ganerumo - you're incredibly stupid, just saying.
It's shocking, but it's not traumatizing to the point of scarring you to life. It would be if she actually SAW someone die.
Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a severe anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to any event that results in psychological trauma.[2] This event may involve the threat of death to oneself or to someone else, or to one's own or someone else's physical, sexual, or psychological integrity,[2] overwhelming the individual's ability to cope.

It knows PTSD better than you, stop being a twit. Saying "well I wouldn't be a pussy like that" is not grounds to dismiss someone's perfectly valid medical claim.
Oh and 4 hours for a business trip sounds really reasonable
