• Scientists Disarm AIDS Virus’ Attack on Immune System

Yeah most initial vaccines have a pretty decent chance of leaving nasty side affects. I've always been told that never take a medicine that is younger than 50 years old, because even if you are unaffected, it could affect you children. Though I guess if you're in a situation like AIDS, its worth a shot. I don't know how to say it without sounding like a terrible person, but they don't have much to lose. That glimmer of hope with a vaccine that may or may not cause other problems, is much better than just going through life with AIDS.
You know deep down that it won't
Yeah man we never cured Smallpox or vaccinated TB right? Man, I wish Smallpox would be cured. Too bad all cures are being repressed by The Man or are doomed to failure.
it takes 10 years for a viable cure to be proved safe for humans, many may not make it past the first stages.
it takes 10 years in the United States for a viable cure to be proven safe for humans, many may not make it past the first stages.
Fixed. The FDA is lame. I'm not sure it is (in theory) effective to treat existing AIDS cases anyway, they stated that it was a prevention thing, not a "cure" as far as I'm able to tell.
its almost too good to be true.
Calimune has an HIV/AIDS vaccine that has been administered successfully to multiple people.
Well okay, it's not harming the immune system, but doesn't AIDS have its own list of grave symptoms, apart from making you weak and an open door to every disease ever ?

Do you know how HIV works?

S'all I'm saying.

S'all I'm saying.
You're interpreting what I'm saying the wrong way. I'm not saying there's some conspiracy where medicine is actively suppressed because there's no money for the huge corporations that control it (although it would be ignorant to deny any such action every being taken), but that regardless of the interests of pharmaceutical companies, it just won't be popular because it can't be marketed.
By weakening your immune system. :downs: This takes away the the HIV virus's ability to severely effect your immune system. Do you know how HIV works?
No I don't, I only heard AIDS doesn't only weaken the immune system but also has a few symptoms on his own.
We already cured cancer about 20 times.
If you see every news article that says that they've found something hopeful and take it as a "cure" and then, when it doesn't come to light any time soon as the holy grail of cancer cures you blame big pharma or the illuminati or something, then yes. But that isn't reality, that is a dream world.
No I don't, I only heard AIDS doesn't only weaken the immune system but also has a few symptoms on his own.
comparatively the HIV medication for those with a serious case of AIDs has more side effects than the HIV virus itself. AIDS itself is not a virus, it is the condition of having a seriously weakened or nearly non-existant immune system due to the HIV virus. If you stop the HIV virus from weakening the immune system, then the risk of gaining serious symptoms and illnesses goes down tremendously with vaccination.
So... Magic Johnson's trick for staying healthy was... Low cholesterol?
Can we start banning people for these sort of threads. This is the same shit that'll happen everytime: 1. New thread reveals news of drug or plan that stop AIDS or any other virus. 2. Other posters are happy. 3. Day or so later thread disappears and is never heard of again. 4. Week or so later another thread appears with exactly the same reason. 5. Cycle repeats.
Yeah, let's ban people for discussing current events!
There's a difference between events and news that actually matters and threads like this that are full of bollocks. How about you have a search for all the threads that are exactly like this then come back to me.

Removing the cholesterol membrane in a closed laboratory environmen is hella different from doing it in an infected body.
If only this had happened earlier, freddie could still be here.....
Actually, no.
I don't get the dumbs, Cancer isn't just ONE disease, there's like hundreds of types of cancer, if you make a vaccine for one, there's a 99% chance it won't work for other types of cancer.. And you can't make a 'Cure', there is no cure for cancer, and never will, same for AIDS, it's called Treatment, it can take a day, it can take a month, but we are decades away from a 'vaccine' to prevent cancer, we'd had to understand a lot more about genetics, and we are getting there. but saying cancer was cured 20 times is like saying garry fucked all of our moms.

Why don't they just inject money?
Doesn't when you have aids it's not and disease, but rather when your immunitysystem is fucked up and loaded with disease? Maybe it cures Hiv?
Saw title on main page and it read "Scientists disarm AI". I am disappointed.
Any word on the cost of this treatment yet? I can't imagine something as specialized as removing cholesterol membranes from specific cells is going to be cheap. The cost of treatment could potentially put the vaccine at a stand-still.
jesus christ the past week has been fucking amazing for science AIDS is fixed, time travel, electronics talking to your brain and reading your memories if we keep this pace we'll be hoverboarding in no time
I don't get all this talk about time travel being proven. Can someone link me to the article? I must've missed it :(
