• MPAA: Ripping DVDs Shouldn't Be Allowed Because It Takes Away Our Ability To Charge You Multiple Tim
I'm the opposite. Movies are one of the few formats that I refuse to go digital with. MPAA can fuck right off.
Just downloading or renting the film from the internet is much more convenient, I can watch it on whatever device I like, and I don't need to either have a DVD player or rip the DVD. The only thing you really miss out on are the occasional mega-cheap DVD sales in some stores.
Washington, D.C. 1600 Eye St., NW Washington, D.C. 20006 (202) 293-1966 (main) (202) 296-7410 (fax)
30 minutes away, and there's multiple Home Depots on my route. Time to learn how to take the safety device off of nailguns.
Oh eat a dick MPAA. Stop trying to take away my rights with physical media.
Movies are one of the few formats that I refuse to go digital with.
Brofist, reel-to-reel video all the way.
I'm sick of companies abusing the capitalist system and then whining when the system bites them in the ass. STOP.
Like Zeke said, there needs to be a warning label on money. Cause from what I've seen, money makes you a bigger dick than most alcoholics. Then again, thats only what I've seen.
What will they think of next? DVDs that require a $3.99 charge every viewing after the first? IP laws in this country are ridiculous.
Like Zeke said, there needs to be a warning label on money. Cause from what I've seen, money makes you a bigger dick than most alcoholics. Then again, thats only what I've seen.
Poor people are dicks just as bad as rich people, they just don't have the power to spread the influence of their dickishness. [editline]16th February 2012[/editline]
I'll rip my own DVDs regardless of what Washington or the MPAA has to say about it. My money, my hardware, my rules. End of story, MPAA, and if you don't like that you can eat a thousand dicks for all I care. [editline]16th February 2012[/editline] This would be applicable if it was a rental. When you rent something you're merely paying for the right to use it for a certain time. You're not allowed to do donuts with rental cars, for example. However, when you buy a DVD, it's not a rental. It's a purchase. And when someone purchases something they're entitled to do whatever the goddamn hell they want to with it. Buy your car? You're welcome to do donuts all you want. Buy your DVD? Rip it and put it on your computer and phone. In either case it's your shit. That's why I rip my DVDs and games whenever I want, remove DRM, modify the games, copy my music onto my phone, all that good stuff. My rules superceed theirs on stuff I purchase.
Alright, that makes sense. I concede.
I was going to say that maybe one of these days Congress will go "oh, they ARE just greedy fucks who will do anything for our money," but then I remembered we were talking about the people who wanted to kill the internet.

Dear MPAA, No, I bought these movies, suck my dick. Sincerely, me.

I rip all my DVDs to my computer, oh no I'm a criminal! No seriously, when I want to watch a movie I don't want to have to go hunt through my DVD cabinet and switch out DVDs in a player, I just use my WDTV and select the movie I want to watch from the list of files kept on my computer. Not to mention I don't have to switch DVDs half way through movies with multiple parts. The DVD itself is just a physical backup and certificate of ownership as far as I'm concerned.
I only see 100s, and that's only for a few seconds while I light my cigar with them

You light your cigars with 100s? Strange. I wipe my ass with them.
The new hundreds are an non-porous polymer, I find them incredibly unsuited to either task.
they can create however many laws they want, even to make you think that whatever purchase isn't what you own. Once the transaction is made, then the seller's duty is DONE. Whatever happens to the content is the buyer's decision, they have the freedom.
