I used to be prescribed fluoride tablets because "our water didn't have enough" ... :c
I'm no conspiracy theorist but I find it difficult to believe that the government cares enough about tooth decay to put flouride in our water specifically for that reason.
Yeah, they put it in to keep the water clean, that's about it.
Harvard scientists announce that study on fluoride, IQ not applicable in US. http://www.kansas.com/2012/09/11/2485561/harvard-scientists-data-on-fluoride.html
I've been drinking tap water my whole life, and my brain and teeth are fine. checkmate conspiracy theorists
So this is why I'm so stupid
What a coincidence, I just read this thread right after brushing my teeth :v:
Fun fact: the treatment of municipal water removes fluoride that's naturally in ground water in the first place Funner facter: if you live in the blue and they add fluoride, they add less than is taken out when it gets treated: [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline]
Reminds me when the elementary school system made me take fluoride even though my mother had signed a form that strictly said "DO NOT give my child fluoride".
The fluoride treatments in schools are just a mouth wash, you don't ingest it
if you genuinely think that putting flouride in the water causes serious health problems you are either a conspiracy theorist or gullible (or both)
oh shit i don did the water But yeah, I better cut back on the water.
Lol we sell fluoride enriched bottled water for children at kroger
so how is this legal?
Flourine has been proven to cause brain damage, increase risks for various forms of cancer, and cause dental fluorosis. Very few other countries in the world use Flourine as many have agreed it has minimal benefits when ingested yet massive cons. Did you pull that argument out of your ass or what? They're not blaming Flourine as causing America to be shitty, but its certainly one of the reasons. Please do some research before you rant about something you clearly don't understand and start a bandwagon of ignorance.
it has been proven to cause brain damage in extreme concentrations when it is chemically saturated in the brain in vitro but as far as getting brain damage from drinking water that is flourinated? not gonna happen [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline]
I'm no conspiracy theorist but I find it difficult to believe that the government cares enough about tooth decay to put flouride in our water specifically for that reason.
well thats nice to hear but unfortunately your ignorance of public health and its effects on our society as a whole don't change anything [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline]
you're just a conspiracy theorist. now excuse me while i inject sodium fluoride
look i know you love making these passive aggressive "why are conspiracy theorists not taken seriously??" posts but nobody will ever take you seriously because you don't say anything that deserves to be. mattk50's post is an extremely poor, kneejerk, paranoid reaction to fetrets and doesn't even come close to disproving fetret's point on water fluoridation. "which currently is set at 4.0 mg/L" oh goodness how terrifying, 4mg/L flourine saturation in the public water supply is SO CLOSE to incubating our hippocampuses with 80mg/L of sodium flouride in vitro. slippery slope guys, we're inching towards the day where water fluoridation might actually be something worth giving a shit about! "Thus, children in high-fluoride areas had significantly lower IQ scores than those who lived in low-fluoride areas" where is that correleation-is-not-causation shit you guys love to blabber on about? perhaps water flouridation is higher in urban areas where poverty rates are higher and education is of lower quality? maybe, just maybe, the correlation between lower IQ and water flouridation is caused by another factor. but no clearly it's more likely that a link between water flouridation and lower IQs that has no scientific basis is the cause for lower IQs in these areas, surely thats it
-snip
the best part is in your own quote, the EPA is reviewing the 4mg/L limit on water flouridation and are planning on LOWERING IT to 0.7mg/L. clearly the acts of a tyrannical government trying to dumb down the american population so we'll buy footballs and plasma TVs or whatever your ridiculous theory is [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline]
there's a reason why toothpaste has a warning label on them, I don't get why putting sodium fluoride in the water is even a suggestion.
because toothpaste has high concentrations of flouride that are not designed for human consumption? the warning is there so that you don't ingest the toothpaste and hurt yourself. if you follow the warning label it's harmless
so how is this legal?
why would it be illegal
the best part is in your own quote, the EPA is reviewing the 4mg/L limit on water flouridation and are planning on LOWERING IT to 0.7mg/L. clearly the acts of a tyrannical government trying to dumb down the american population so we'll buy footballs and plasma TVs or whatever your ridiculous theory is
7 is more than 4 case closed
7 is more than 4 case closed
all i'm saying is, if i ingest water with a salinity rate of over 3.5%, i can become dehydrated, delirious, develop diarrhea and possibly DIE. so why the hell is salt even on the table for discussion? oh sure if we just use a little bit of salt while cooking we'll be safe, but ignore the warning labels and just start eating salt and you could DIE?
So instead of blaming the real issue, which is a combination of terrible public education and a lack of discipline at home, we're instead blaming flouride in the water? Again? Fucking hell society is stupid. Flouride has been in the water for decades, if it caused any serious issues it wouldn't be used anymore. It didn't take us long at all to figure out that lead plumbing = lead poisoning, after all. IQ isn't even that important anyway. Or accurate. You can have an IQ of 155 and still be dumber than a bag of dicks.
yeah we're blaming it with absolutely no evidence or scientific studies because that's how science works in the 21st century it's kooky
why would it be illegal
because its water with fluoride in it and fluoride is bad for some reason [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] because huffington post said so
Well, I wonder how high my IQ would have been without a life of drinking tap water.. It was measured at 132 in the 4th grade, 128 in the 9th grade, and 116 3 years into college.
Why is it, that out of all the chemicals you ingest on a daily basis, fluoride is the one that's consistently singled out as being the worst?
Don't drink the water They put something in it, to make you forget.
Pepper;39465448']Don't drink the water They put something in it, to make you forget.
I don't even remember how I got here.
Don't drink the water! They-they put something in it! To make you stupid!
Guys, they use tap water to make soft drinks. :pwn:
this is why i only drink diet pepsi
this is why i only drink diet pepsi
isn't diet worse for you than just a straight soda

I was clarifying it. The vitro experiment is irreverent because the tests the tests this was actually published for did were out of a controlled laboratory, in china where that 4mg of Fluoride was actually present. Our water is at .7. They compared the regions of different concentration of water there and came up with results that prove that higher concentrations in the 2mg-4mg range are noticably harmful. Read more clearly next time. Or, actually, read the damn thing i9n the first place because i doubt you did. They accounted for normal differences, youd notice if you read it.
Yes, and yet you've come out just as if they had.
stfu u dnt kno me t(-_-t)
I thought it was the microbots that the government puts in the water that does that.
