huh windows doesn't give you the option to do any of those things
Does Linux offer those opportunities to a user without programming experience? It doesn't quality as a feature/option if the user is required to code it on his/her own.
Does Linux offer those opportunities to a user without programming experience?
yes many desktop environments do

[sp]OPERATING SYSTEMS LIKE THIS WILL TAKE US ALL THE WAY TO BERLIN![/sp] I don't really like Linux but good for them I guess.
They said the word free. there going back to communism! but really good for them
how is this a huge blow to microsoft
They said the word free. there going back to communism! but really good for them
Hardly, it's just smarter spending, why waste money on buying software, when there's free alternatives that are equivalent, and can sometimes outperform paid software.
how is this a huge blow to microsoft
"Sticking it to the man" I suppose.
Windows sucks anyways. It's only good for games. I just don't like how it thinks it has to do everything by itself and take control out of my hands. I just reformattet today and raged alot again.
We're a minority group of people who know how to use a computer and OS, Windows is designed by default for people who don't.
We're a minority group of people who know how to use a computer and OS, Windows is designed by default for people who don't.
to be fair, the same thing would be said about linux if it was what most people grew up using or were introduced to when first using a desktop computer
well of coarse, windows and mac os is difficult when your so used to... quality...
lol what
lol what
lol nvm, i misunderstood the meaning of your post for something else
Isn't linux like the hardest to get viruses or something.
Isn't linux like the hardest to get viruses or soemthing.
in general yes
yes, pretty much...
Valve took their time to port Steam to OSX port, it would only make sense to make a Linux equivalent.
no, there's no games for linux why would they waste their time
how is this a huge blow to microsoft
Because they're going to stop buying Microsoft's products in large numbers. MS just lost a huge customer.
no, there's no games for linux why would they waste their time
Because if they ported Source and GldSource games to Linux, they could reach a large market.
moving to russia
no, there's no games for linux
lol
Because if they ported Source and GoldSource games to Linux, they could reach a large market.
World domination, if you will
I'd like to see where this goes. Every operating system has its advantages and disadvantages. I've always used Windows so I don't know how OSX and Linux run. I'm not going to put my worthless two cents in on a nerdy debate about operating systems that do the damn same thing.

Linux: Easy to use in the case of certain distros (Debian-based, i.e. Ubuntu or Mint) but difficult in others (Gentoo), better for servers, generally faster and whatnot, flexible and open, free (except enterprise Red Hat) Windows: Plays games, sometimes is a bitch Mac OSX: Not flexible at all, but looks cool (in my opinion) and can't do shit other than what your grandmother would do
Putin WILL make steam run on linux. Suddenly episode 3 is delayed by another 27 years.
no it's actually probably because closed source software is shitty
im just trying to make fun of hardcore russian nationalists. let me have my fun ;(
Good for them, too bad linux sucks dick (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Benji))
Leave this place and never return.
For every high level boycott of MS products, our XBL bill increases :( I swear, if my bill rises past $65, I'm selling my Xbox and buying a ps3 with the money I have saved from my allowance. 16 YRs old and my parents are forcing me to pay that damn bill with my allowance. Thats 9 hard weeks of constant tedious shit.
Boohoo, i've been doing that since was was 14.
I'd happily use linux if it had same support windows has. Almost no app I use runs on linux and the "alternatives" are just laughable.
