If American troops are stationed in Australia then its only fair that Australian troops are stationed in America. I'd love to read about a unit marching through Nowhere, Nebraska with the flag hoisted high.
I'd imagine they'd do that. Australia has been planning on siphoning resources from Detroit and Mexico for the last few decades.
I'm 90% sure the only use of US military personnel would be aid after a natural disaster. Not unlike Japan, our soldiers based there helped with the cleanup and aid efforts. If something like that happened to an Australian city it would mean the world to have a group of ready-to-respond, trained personal to keep peace and order until a larger response can be initiated.

It's the middle of nowhere, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Not on the scale of the Japanese tsunami at least, sure you've got cyclone Tracy but I imagine the city is built to withstand that kind of shit now. Overall it doesn't really worry me either way, couple extra marines to get drunk with or something I guess.
We're obviously looking for Al Koala. Their evil doings will be no more.

At any given moment nature could unleash massive amounts of force. And also, if the US has military presence in Southeast Asia, China will be more pressured into following through with the demands from the nations of Asia on changing the value of their currency.

Australia agreed to this because the government has been sucking up to America since the second world war.
The real reason is that our Army is too pussy to deal with the threat of the drop bears. With America's ever increasing technology and weaponry, they'll be able to take this menace out once and for all.

This isn't a fantastic way to forge better relationships with China and the rest of south east asia
colonies of british unite
To be honest tho, China does need to start playing by I guess you could call it the "rules" seeing how its such a major economic and military power.
Can't you just wear a Pickelhaube or even a Football Helmet with a Knife duct-taped to it?
A knife won't even penetrate the skin.

Australia has WMDs, connections to terrorist organizations More at 11
Don't the marines already enjoy fucking with people with camel spiders? Love to see what they're gonna do with Australian spiders.
Fuck with them too. And maybe molest their kangaroos.
Training. Places like Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama train officers from all over the world.
Davis-Monthan AFB does it as well. I had two South Korean Airforce pilots as neighbors once.
