They also fire non home made, grad rockets at further targets which cause a lot more damage. I heard from alot of places that Hamas were launching real missiles, these are just sewage pipes with thrusters.

Probably because these are most of the rockets. There are real missiles, which can reach a lot farther, but they rarely fire them due to not getting a lot of them due to the blockade.

Waste that is deadly enough to justify the blockade, yes.

Approximately 4,000 of those have been fired since 2001, resulting in 23 deaths (sources aren't terribly consistent but the figures don't have a wide range of variation). Certainly not very effective, presumably not very powerful.

The buck stops at the rockets having been fired in the first place. Debating their potency is pointless. However the 10 to 1 death ratio Israel is toting is testament to the effectiveness or, depending on how you view it, the heavy-handedness of Israeli retaliation.

In fact I would say people who take sides in this conflict, particularly those who don't live anywhere near the two countries are ignorant at best. It's an intensely complicated conflict that isn't black and white by any means. It's not a second world war where there is one obvious good side and one obvious bad side. Also your points about Hamas not being a religious organisation are completely wrong. As previous posters have said, they are most definitely an Islamic organisation and set some of their goals around that.
