Oscar Isaac was in Llewlyn Davis, not sure about others.
Adam Driver was in that movie as well. and he sang a song about going into outer space (!)
Yes, age does that to you. He cleans up very well on screen too! Why? He's more than qualified to reprise the role of Han. All the original cast is more than qualified to reprise their roles, assuming they aren't part the intense action parts. If anyone is questionable it's Mark Hamil, he hasn't been on screen much for ages! Mainly voice work. And he let himself go quite a bit.
Plastic surgery from the late 70s probably didn't help, either. I presume he'll probably be losing some weight for the role, but even if he doesn't he could still do a good job as a retired Luke who sticks to an advisory role. He still has the youth in his eyes, though.

Really happy about the mostly unknown new cast!
Getting a cast of unknowns (except for Serkis, since he played Gollum) is a smart move.
i've seen all of the actors on the list in at least one film/TV show before they're not really unknowns

Hopefully they won't make him do an elaborate CG lightsaber ballet-fight.

I imagine they'll explain it in the movie as Palpatine's lightning fucking his face up.

You have to be rather specific to find Daisy Ridley. Her two episodes of Silent Witness and one appearance in Mr Selfridge are probably her most prolific roles.
Getting a cast of unknowns (except for Serkis, since he played Gollum) is a smart move.
I hope they make Serkis play a creepy, CG Yoda, or I guess Yoda's son since Yoda is dead and all. That's right Yoda has a son now guest written by George Lucas.
Where is Lando?
This is a little mean, because this isn't age. He got in a car crash.
it's not a little mean because just like me, the poster probably didn't know about this.
This is a little mean, because this isn't age. He got in a car crash.
Wasn't talking about his plastic surgery. I was talking about his genreal appearance. Don't get me wrong he's still more than qualifted to reprisee the role, I simply hope hes in better shape for the movie.

I wonder who the lead is (John Boyega?). The rest of them don't have the look of being a main 'jedi' type character. Some of them look like they'll be cast as smugglers or Imperial villains.

Looks like Hamill is growing a beard as well. Him in London a couple of days ago:
Pretty sure it was confirmed long ago that the original cast are nearly all secondary roles. They'll probably find a way to drag R2 and 3P0 along though.

He provided the voice for Darth Maul in Episode I (he dubbed over Ray Park).

This just convinced me that aging can't be all that bad.

I'm surprised Max von Sydow is still alive, because that dude was ALREADY looking old back when he was in The Exorcist. And that was in 1973.
For those who're curious about Max von Sydow, he was also the pope guy from cult classic The Exorcist god fucking dammit, apollo, seriously?
Something something a post-Empire New Republic government promising positive change finds itself at odds with its intended mission statement, gradually taking up the mantle left by the Empire in order to root out sedition and take absolute control under some notion of the greater good by forcing disarmament and ending up with an even more active spy and espionage network than that which preceded it, taking up the TIE/D Project to eliminate threats to the Republic without requiring the standing forces fielded by Palpatine.
