This thread has definitely convinced me to buy something, and it ain't the Ouya.
Gotta get me one of those Android sticks.

It's like 10 bucks and comes with 9999999 in 1 NES games. It's everything you just described too.
i bought one of these
they don't work
unless this is a paid system i find it mildly disrespectful to sell a console advertising the fact that you can pirate games on it
seems a bit foolish even if pirating nes/snes/n64 is harmless at this point
Actually I don't think it will be all that harmless when Nintendo release all their NES/SNES/N64 games on Wii U Virtual console. Then they'd be potentially taking money from nintendo. Who I really doubt would let a retail product do this.
i guess i shouldn't be surprised that ouya is specifically designed for cheapskates who pirate games.

yeah you can't even make the abandonware argument because nintendo is still selling a lot of their old games.

i didn't know that nintendo was doing this, just makes this whole thing even more ridiculous
I honestly don't get why people are still circlejerking about the Ouya. Anything that runs Android with decent hardware can pretty much do what it does if not better.
Again, wait to judge this when actual games come out.
Excuse me, these emulators already exist for Android, and they're already compatible with controllers.

How is this noteworthy at all? You'd get the same effect by taking two seconds to download the emulators yourself and configuring it with the controller.
becuase this is a game console you plug into your tv
nintendo will get very butt frustrated
Again, wait to judge this when actual games come out.
actual games are already out though
just check out the android market
Well there goes any shred of legitimacy it might've held in the console market.
unless this is a paid system i find it mildly disrespectful to sell a console advertising the fact that you can pirate games on it
They're not advertising the fact that you can emulate games on it, the interview is with some nobody from the dev forum who is saying that emulators will be available on day one.
So can you point me to NES ready plug-in-TV set including the device (powerful enough to run the emulation), cable, and controller, for $99? I am interested.
The T.V. sticks I've posted in this thread a million times already can do that easily.
I've got a question about those Android USB sticks. Is there one with a quad core processor and preferably 2 GB of ram?
Also, how is the homebrew community for them? Do people make custom ROMs for them?
For your first question, yes, but any one you find with those specs will probably be more Ouya-sized rather than USB stick sized. For the second question, for the more popular ones yes. Like I've already mentioned, I have mine running on a custom ROM.
An emulator shouldn't be even considered a launch title.
This is something I'd pay for
I own a N64 since last year, been collecting games for it slowly but some are super hard to find.
Been going into the same store a buncha times a week looking for pokemon stadium
I am aware of those things, however they are fairly pricey. I will get one in the long run though
