I was really confused when I saw this thread until I remembered that I had the XKCD substitutions chrome addon enabled:
ridiculous car to drive on the road...
It's not that it's ridiculous, its just that the driver had no idea what he was doing, or if it was an event he couldn't control.

Unless the driver was professional and fully with it, I wouldn't trust anyone to drive me around in a vehicle like that...

Well unless they're flooring it at every straight and corner, I wouldn't exactly worry about trust.
The driver isn't gonna slam into a tree doing the speed limit and following road rules.
this guy didn't have bad taste in cars either, he had a really nice S15 and an R34.

follow road rules yes, then along comes a pot hole and up in flames you go.
Whereas if you were in a range rover, you'd feel less of a cock and enjoy it. The extreme factor of being a supercar like a Porsche is not what I'd call my car of choice for long distance journies.
To experience track racing yes, to chill and relax for a nice drive... not really.

I think you're exaggerating the pothole thing, but yes, its a track car, it has stiff suspension, its meant for the track, but that being said, that doesn't mean its a deathtrap, its a deathtrap if the person collides into a tree at 70ish mph.
And I agree with you, this wouldn't be my daily driver, I'd rather enjoy a comfy sedan or SUV, most super/sports cars are made for smooth track roads.
I remember reading an interview with Paul in a magazine, and he has a decent collection of cars. Lots of Skylines and BMWs. I wonder whats going to happen to them.

Dude that was just a tiny example, there's a ton of factors that can affect concentration and the most likely thing would be insane drivers on the road. Those who do like to piss others off, and you make one tiny swerve in this thing, you could end up rolling all the way your grave...

Yeah, if you're say, in extreme conditions such as ice or what have you, have you seen a car spin out at 30-40~ mph? it barely slides 4 meters. the difference here is that the car is torn in half which leaves a hint that they must've been going REALLY fast.
If you slammed into a tree at the speed it takes to rip a car in half, I'm certain it won't matter what side safety impact rating it got.

I'm not so sure tbh, the fact that it exploded in flames didn't surprise me a single bit.
No offence to the memory of this lad but I'd have a lot more respect for myself if I left the extreme car drives for the movies. I'm sure he had more than enough share for one dude to experience super cars.
The fact that it's so unironic, is just sad.

Probably because he [possibly] took a corner at 100+ and tried to correct but ended up over-correcting and slamming into a tree.
But remember, Paul wasn't the driver, so give him the respect, he didn't take the car drives out into the public, the driver did.
Of course Twitter has posted a picture of his dead face. God damn.

Yep, looks like him. Holy crap.
Wasn't he supposed to play Agent 47 in the new Hitman movie? I can't say I'm too familiar with his work but this is terrible news, RIP.

Fuck I just saw that pic too. I just hope he didn't feel any pain at all.
what pic are you guys talking about?

It's on Twitter, we can't post it here. Death/Gore.

If you click on his trend you should see the photo in the top results.
I don't think it is him, we have to remember the car was on fire. Yeah he could have been thrown from the car but my thought is that that trauma doesn't look like the kind that comes from an accident of that nature. I wouldn't confirm it is him until we have more proof.
Well I had thought that, but damn it does look like him.

Kinda looks like Chris Martin from Coldplay, if only.
Maybe i don't want to see his dead face
Good thing facepunch is always sfw in these situations

I wouldn't have too much faith, some prick was bound to post it uncensored eventually.

It does look like him but in the crash photos I don't see any bodies around the car or in the immediate area. If he was anywhere near that car while it was on fire he would at least have some singed hair and I don't see anything that indicates that. Not to mention the biggest giveaway for me is that his hair was much shorter the day of the crash.

^^ That imagine was taken not long before the crash, his hair is much shorter than the hair we see in the picture.
I saw the picture and I'm not sure, to me it doesn't look like him completely.
It's really sad he passed away so soon. But if he drank before driving or just went too fast where he wasn't supposed I'll be honest, that makes me feel worse about the accident, especially because another person died.
Rest in peace.

why does everyone think he was driving, he was a passenger
hell even the picture we've been posting puts him the US passenger's side
Also one of his mates has been interviewed and said they couldnt get him out of the car, he was stuck.
That pic looks fake, doesnt even look a little bit crispy
That picture is fake.
