Grow up, no one was a "douchebag", I hardly think the driver meant to kill Paul and himself. It was an accident, and a tragic one at that.
Did you see pictures of the car? The guy driving had to have been going like 200MPH to do that. He was being stupid.
This is why I'm kind of weary of front engine sports cars like this.
The way physics works, if a car has a more hollow front as a result of the back engine, the car crumbles in the front, rather than the vibrations and such completely going into the cabin and the rest of the car.
Crumbling fronts are being put in helecopters and are why things such as the black hawk has such a good crash to survival rate.

Oh wow. Nevermind. Was a rear mid.
Yeah wow.
Maybe the car split in two because of a crash safety feature, like that Lamborghini that split in two a few months ago...
What I don't understand is why it burst into flames and burned the passengers if such a feature was implemented. Mid-engined cars scare me.
That one quote everyone's using, "If one day the speed kills me..." etc, when did he say that? Did he EVER say that?

The reason Porsche became popular in the very early days was because they were such dangerous and challenging cars to drive, that was the appeal from the very beginning, men brave enough ride such unstable vehicles at speed, it seems to be that most people forget that and are surprised when someone dies in one. Although, with the years that "deadly" characteristic disappeared, you just had to be more careful because of the rear engine and rear wheel drive. But the Carrera GT is special and is really nothing like a normal 911 Carrera. It's twitchy, nervous, fast and absolutely unforgiving in all aspects, it's a bloody racecar not a luxury car for the wealthy. It was originally intended to be the Le Mans successor to the GT1, using the V10 F1 engine they made in 1992. But Porsche HQ killed that project. "Ahwell let's just produce it anyway with a bit of extra leather on the seats". And there you have it.
1. unrefined engine (lack of rotational mass that makes it difficult when you get off the throttle)
2. mid-engine layout
3. short wheel base
An Enzo sort of has these characteristics as well, but an Enzo seems to be in a different league when it comes to *not* killing its rivers/passengers. The Enzo was built with the carbon fiber cockpit much like an F1 car. I thought the Carrera GT had this as well. Clearly I was wrong.
Not to say you can't buy one, but make sure you test that thing on the track and get to know it's limits VERY well before you take it onto the street so there's no such surprises when it oversteers. It's not a car for anyone to drive, and that's for sure. The only reason I can think for an ex-racing driver to crash this thing is 1. He wasn't a very good racing driver or 2. He never took his car to the track to know it's limits.

Poor guy.
Not to sure how sure this is but apparently, the new 'Fast & Furious 7 is only going to be delayed

You know I am glad to hear what that guy has to say honestly, I am glad someone came and tried to get him out. The biggest relief for me is that he was unconscious during most of it if not all of it, that was my only hope when I heard of this.
It's a sad day.
RIP, that sucks, but I can't help but wonder what they're gonna end up doing with fast and furious 7. they've been filming it for 2 months now so they're either gonna have to do a lot of re-shoots or just cancel it.
He'll probably get in a car wreck in that too via stuntman and non-face-revealing camera.
This is the first celebrity death I've ever been remotely sad about. He was a good actor.
wow, its so weird how the death of some guy we dont even know personally can affect us so much, legitimately sad, RIP.
All those fucking stupid people recording him with their smartphone and shit while he mourns.
What a bunch of disrespectful people!
Paul Walker was passionate about marine biology. He went on a few shark tagging trips and was on a National Geographic show about tagging great whites. What an all around great guy.

Nope, can't find any reference to it that was actually posted before his death. I restricted Google search to sites before Nov 2013, and some results come up but that's only because Google uses the original page creation date, but some pages were updated after his death (forum signatures, Tumblr notes, etc.)

That's not him.
They said his body was unidentifiable, and with the amount of fire there was, i cant imagine he would be.

You have no idea how delicate cars actually are.

If they drove at a legal speed in the area, this thread wouldn't exist.
I'm not saying they deserve it because they fucking don't, but it's their fault for speeding, no matter how good of a driver you are, a car is a car, it can crash and fucking kill you in a split-second.
I'm angered by the fact that if they didn't speed they'd still be alive.
Race in peace Paul and Rogers. :(

Wait, where was it confirmed the driver was speeding?
I thought the car model has a fuckload of problems.

The speed limit for that area was 35 mph. Now look at the accident. Put two and two together, it's not rocket science.
Wait, where was it confirmed the driver was speeding?

The car doesn't have any problems. Its just designed for track racing is all.
If the driver wasn't speeding he wouldn't have crashed so violently and the car would've not of went aflame.
The only problem the car has is the "problem" of being attractive to people with large wallets whose driving ability does not match the speed at which they wish to drive cars like these at.
It's weird thinking about dying like this.. especially not being drunk.. one minute you're conscious, then thats it.. its hard to comprehend.

At least he went quickly, I mean an impact at that speed without a helmet has to leave you either dead or unconcious. I doubt he would have felt anything.
R.I.P both Roger Rodas and Paul Walker. gotta hate how unpredictable cars can be even with a professional driver at the wheel.
