Are we just forgetting all of a sudden that Killing Floor already had a ton of money whoring character packs, some of which go as far as demanding £3 for a single skin and a bunch of voice lines - personally, I had no problem with this, I just didn't buy any of them. Suddenly there's an ingame market where you can now buy user created skins of just as little importance and practical value to gameplay and everyone is losing their minds

How can anyone in their right mind think that's OK????
Honestly, I got bored of this pretty quickly. I don't think I've played 2 or more hours yet, you think they'll let me get a refund in light of this, or nah because it's early access?
Does anyone remember how Tripwire fucked up the release of Red Orchestra 2 so hard that it drove the playerbase below Ostfront levels for upwards of a year? Or how Red Orchestra 2 still has crippling bugs related to servers, tanks, weapons and bugged animations? And how Tripwire announced Rising Storm 2 when they were less than 1 month into the KF2 beta? And how the KF2 beta took 5 fucking months to get an update that the developers have the gaul to call a "free content pack" as if we're acting entitled to having a fully fleshed out game. This microtransaction BS is only going to get worse in KF2 as they already have a sidegrade weapon that is pitifully balanced, and they are going to put more work into sucking money from customers rather than making the game better
The games devolving into a tf2\csgo cosmetic crate clusterfuck and it's not even finished yet.

I didn't really care and I just didn't buy any of them. Just like no one gave a shit about Payday 2 doing weapon DLC's but when they went to micro which is pretty much the exact same shit with a different name, everyone blew up.

And was also finished? And not $30?

Now people are truly starting to see the BS pile up and are getting fed up with it. Like me.
To everyone saying that this "isn't a big deal". It's a big deal. By defending this kind of business practice you're enabling devs to keep doing this bullshit. The game isn't even finished yet. Work is being taken away from FINISHING THE GAME to trying to suck more of your money into their pockets. We have been waiting MONTHS for new content for this game, even moreso before the last content pack.
I don't think graphics artists have any big part in the actual coding of the game but okay. "Taking work away" is only a valid excuse when you've got a small cross-utilized team. This is something that people can work on when they've got nothing else to do on their end due to waiting for the work of others or something to catch up, etc.. It's not black and white.
It's all cosmetics quite bitching.
"hey guys im too shortsighted to see the problems with this, so your opinions are all wrong" - spektor
The Market Economy doesn't really work with indie games that have a small playerbase. It's harder to sell expensive comestics on there than CSGO or TF2.

Seriously, last time i checked the steam stats it was pretty much dead. There's no content in the fucking game. Why would they bother with this shit ?
I blame Valve for making this a popular thing to do in multiplayer centric games.
Why is everyone so shocked or pissed off? Obviously this is the norm now, especially as seen by all the microshit companies like Blizzard and Valve roll out daily.
I can't believe that the game was scheduled to launch in less than a month, they haven't balanced shit, and their "sidegrade" item for the Bezerker, which requires owning Chivalry, is objectively better than the weapon it is supposed to be an alt for.
Why does every single god damn game now need hats and auction markets and shit? I liked it the old way where one'd go grinding for hours to get an unique item. Now it's like fuck that just drop by the nearest auction house and buy one, "or even better" use your real life credit card and get it instantly.
I liked it the old way where my eyes didn't want to vomit because of all the dazzling colours being thrown at them, because apparently there's something wrong with an assault rifle not being decorated
Why does every single god damn game now need hats and auction markets and shit?
Valve did it first. Valve made loadse dosh. People want to copy that and make that dosh too.
the cool thing about a free market is that you can choose not to buy things that you don't want to buy guys :)
I thought Tripwire was better than this. I didn't mind them taking a while in between updates, but finding out they've been spending their time on something this stupid rather than actually fleshing out the game is irritating. If your game is in early access, your priority shouldn't be cosmetics, it should be content with actual substance.
the cool thing about a free market is that you can choose not to buy things that you don't want to buy guys :)
Nice job ignoring all of the points about why that's a shitty argument
Nice job ignoring all of the points about why that's a shitty argument
i ignored them because they're silly, whats the point in complaining? if you don't want to buy them then dont buy them, if you don't want to play the game then don't play the game. PC gamers are so entitled
KF1 had costume packs.
Later on they added DLCs for weapons.
I didn't like KF1 that much but whats actually the issue here maybe I'm just not seeing it, that's just me
I didn't like KF1 that much but whats actually the issue here maybe I'm just not seeing it, that's just me
Early access game that's been having insanely long periods in between updates. Originally, that's no problem. The problem is finding out time that should be spent actually developing the game has been put into cosmetics instead. This kind of thing shouldn't be added until AFTER the game is complete. KF2 doesn't have much content to offer at all right now and hasn't for a while.
I bought this game on "launch" thinking it would be done by the end of the year. Still isn't done. Their FAQ says they want it out before the end of 2015, but this makes me question their priorities.

It doesn't even help that they've flipflopped on why we don't have content, from "we're doing Early Access Right, so it's in an early state" to "Oh... I mean, the content is done, but testing it? Naw we're doing that inhouse (Which they're clearly not, the demo/firebug update was a huge balancing disaster that they haven't even began to touch upon, to the point where 1/2 of the update, the DEMOLITION PERK was entirely useless until you got the max level upgrade which is just a coding nightmare). So we don't get to test the content that we bought into to test as an early access game, and now the time that they're allegedly using to balance the game... they're just not. But don't you worry, they'll show you all the graphs in the world and try to explain what Tripwire man hours mean.
Can't resist that hat $$$
