Fuck what a bullet dodge. I have been meaning to buy this for some time but decided to wait until closer to release. Now I can just pull the hell back and watch the devastation, free of charge.

It sounds like It'll be kind of like CS:GO so its not a massive deal.
Yeah, I honestly don't see the problem with it.
As long as the game comes out alright...
Early access game that's been having insanely long periods in between updates.
Updates? They only had 1 actual update in the time between KF2 EA release in April to this day in November nearing December and that update only made the balance worse
If you can obtain the skins in game, then I won't have much of an issue with it. If you can't, then they should've saved the cosmetic DLCs for after the main game has been finished.
I don't necessarily think putting in a microtransaction system during pre-release is "wrong" as long as the items you can buy are also obtainable in the game itself. Much like what Garry and the crew at FP are doing with Rust. I know some people lost their shit when that system was first implemented, but it doesn't seem like most give a fuck anymore. Though I guess it helps that Garry vividly explained how it would work many times over.
ok cosmetics I'm fine with but adding that in to a game thats not even done / updated commonly, now that's just being shitty
what the fuck are they doing????
"not updated commonly" is putting it lightly, just for some perspective it's been 8 months since release and there's been one major update, a few maps and characters and a bunch of rebalances that broke other classes that have yet to be fixed. and the entire game was originally supposed to be finished by Christmas but they had to push it back to mid-late 2016
this is the most frustrating resource misdirection in a game i've seen in a long time
Lol KF2 is such a shit show. Practically no content, never updated, and this is the first thing they concern themselves with.
its sad seeing the amount of actually pretty good games that end up being abandonware
loadout hasn't been updated in over a year, but its a pretty nice game, same with gear up, and a huge amount of other titles
they get released and then the devs shrug and walk away with the money they made.
Space Engineers and Robocraft are the model early access titles of steam for sure. They have huge updates commonly and massive dev support.

Volter Manor and the Demo/Firebug classes were two seperate content updates.
Not that it matters because the progress Tripwire's made this entire time is still laughable. I wasn't too bothered by their slow progress until I read they've been wasting time on little hats just now.

Ark: Survival Evolved and Subnautica are a couple other Early Access titles done right. I had faith in Tripwire and they screwed up bad :(
Hats, gun skins, trading cards, accessories, this is the future of MP games. :unimpressed:
Next year we're going to see this system implemented in single player heavy titles.
Wow.
What a slap to the face.
I don't know what to say.

Everything contained here is a cosmetic item, offering no benefit to the player other than looking cool and changing the way their character and his/her weapons appear in the game.
Oh yea.. A real slap to the face here.
Wow have I completely forgotten that they updated once before the demo update

You're the one who pointlessly called me out on saying "updates" to begin with.
Why does it matter so much to you?
Their fucking priorities are all wrong on a fucking game that hasn't been released yet.
If it was out, I wouldn't be so angry.

I wasn't being sarcastic (I did not intend for it to read out maliciously) I really did forget that although I guess I shouldn't have made a post just to state that.

Oh, okay. No problem :v:
To people saying how "its just cosmetics", I'd like to point out how Korean MMORPGs have been doing this kind of thing for a long time. Even before Valve added it to TF2. And it ALWAYS starts with just cosmetics. Eventually people stop buying cosmetics and to get people plunking extra money down, they start adding stuff that confers advantages. It seems harmless now, but just wait.........
Well, I always preferred KF1, so this gives me a reason not to play or support KF2.
Disappointed that I can't refund it tho.

But yeah, including this before some of the other planned features of the game? Really shows that Tripwire has their priorities in check ("The money is always right!"). At least they didn't slap stat boosts onto 'em.

I completely forgot about Rise.
If the items were able to be earned during gameplay.. I wouldn't be against it.
So I'm guessing you didn't read the article then, where it plainly states that items will be dropped?
Disappointing Tripwire. Wish I didn't buy this game now. It's not finished yet and they're throwing shit like this in. Puts a sour taste in my mouth for its future.
While I'm certain the system was made by a part of the team that had free time/didn't work on anything more important, it's pretty slimy to release it as the game is.
but hey, as long as they don't lock 70% of the fun weapons behind DLC.
Tripwire really burnt me and I'll never trust or like them again, old school RO1 fan here. They should've stuck to making mods. Also the owner Ramm is an arrogant prick whos pulled the "gamers are entitled" card on occasion.
RO2 launch: we'll release a patch post launch, a few months tops don't worry, were already working on the stuff don't worry!
2.5 years later they release said patch.
Nuff said.

Also blaming Call of Duty for their failures
Let's just wait and see. People are overreacting because of Payday failure and a sense of new content, and jumping to conclusions.
It's the principle of it all, especially considering the fact that it's still in Early Access.

I don't think I'm going to buy Rising Storm 2 at this point, this turned me off of them entirely.
what's wrong with cash/trading shops if the items are 100% cosmetic?
I can see being upset about something like in Payday 2 where the cosmetic items can off stat boosts, but if it doesn't effect gameplay at all, who cares?

Think about what you're saying, microtransactions in a game that's not even out yet and has absolutely no content in it. And they also barely update the game as it is, I regret buying the game and I won't be trusting them ever again.
I seriously gotta get a refund on that game, maybe pick it up once its dirt cheap

Because the game is void of any actual content which has only had one major update in the 8 month period it's been out and even then it was bad because the balancing was terrible. Then they decide to do this
