What a fantastically reasonable article, from a source that is clearly not alarmist or biased in any way.
It's the real America.
And then American people have overthrown the government because it endangered their rights concerning sweets.
Source is extremely biased, as is the article itself. It/They lean so far to the right they topple over. That, and I can't find this article on any other news site.

Because having a banner advertising total war on the Middle East goes so far to establish your credibility... :colbert:
The reason it's not on any other site is because it's a good decision on Obamas part and no one gives a shit. Refer to the graph above.

Don't think your bagels and pancakes are exempt. chances are, they aren't.
Uhh this is meant as to stop food manufacturers from preying on the psychology of little kids to fill them up with extremely unhealthy food. Surprisingly the complaints people made in this thread about the FDA doing this, were the same complaints when the government stopped tobacco companies from marketing cigarettes as "cool".
Atleast someone was able to point it out.
I would generally limit and regulate advertising much more. It has a huge impact on psychology of the society, and it's a huge mental hog for everyone. Even if you think you don't notice advertisements, you do. And your subconscious already has to sort them and deal with them. Even if they have no effect on your behavior, they load your perception with useless bullshit. In worse cases, they can have bad impact on your psychology.
but i love trix
don't you dare touch cinnamon toast crunch
oh, glaber thread, couldn't tell since he changed his avatar
Can't you just pick a source that isn't divisive when the story is so important? Just once, Glaber. Just once.
I like how the article calls them food police. I would want to see a movie about food police and the constant betrayal and on the law fucking.
Bullshit source.
The government was designed to be a SECONDARY governing force. People are supposed to GOVERN their own lives. In terms of democracy that is
This is nothing but the US thinking that we need the government to make our decisions for us, and our children. I think the United States of America has gotten too big for it to be effecient. There is too many sides opposing the country and splitting it into two different paths. I think its time for another secession from union.
I see the memories of my childhood slipping away, being regulated out of existence :smith:

Never opened it once on this forum.
the government is trying to stop food companies from taking advantage of impressionable minds with manipulative marketing!!
tyranny!!!

because we all know nostalgia is a legitimate reason to avoid over-marketing less than healthy foods to children.
The only source you'll get for this kind of thing is alarmist because the other media groups are complacent, don't care out of fear for their reputation, and are too busy fawning over how awesome the current administration is.
sure thing sweetie.
Maybe it would help if, I don't know, schools didn't ban stuff like Tag and Hide and seek? You know, physical childhood games where kids can burn off the fatty foods they want to regulate out of existence.
Fox news had just covered the story..

people that have marketing jobs should kill themselves anyway

Maybe it would help if, I don't know, instead of over-processed trash, parents feed their children healthy food and don't allow them to sit on their asses all day?

I know you probably won't watch it because it's John Stewart, but Fox News doesn't exactly report the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Plus, you can look up the Politifacts articles mentioned if you really want to read them for yourself.
I also like how you completely overblow and sensationalize what's going on here. 17 percent of America's kids are obese, triple the amount from 1980, and a lot of that has to do with food along with exercise. This bill doesn't ban the foods, it just prevents the marketing of them to impressionable young kids.
honestly the fact that Fox News is legally allowed to lie since they aren't actually legally considered a news station should be enough to put any reasonable person off
this is glaber deflecting how wrong he is onto some other inane point
How is it wrong to market to kids? You know most of the cartoons we have? They're marketed to kids. Toys are marketed to kids. and even multivitamins (EX: Flinstone vitamins). IMO the real thing wrong here is trying to deny kids their tasty cereal and a way to burn off the fat.
Let's face it, most health food tastes, as the Fiber One ad's put it, like cardboard and kids are picky eaters.

Eating like crap and then going for a jog and then expecting to stay healthy is both unreasonable and unsustainable. We market toys to kids because toys usually don't negatively impact the health of the kids.
