How is it wrong to market to kids? You know most of the cartoons we have? They're marketed to kids. Toys are marketed to kids. and even multivitamins (EX: Flinstone vitamins). IMO the real thing wrong here is trying to deny kids their tasty cereal and a way to burn off the fat. Let's face it, most health food tastes, as the Fiber One ad's put it, like cardboard and kids are picky eaters.
healthy food doesn't taste bad also, you have to be a moron to think that simply exercising is going to offset your unhealthy diet. a healthy diet and plenty of exercise are the best and cartoons/toys/multivitamins aren't nearly as harmful as the shitty food that is pushed on our kids daily by major corporations
If you think that healthy food tastes bland, your taste buds are dead. I would choose making my own salad over pouring a bowl of sugary "cereal" any day.

What the hell is up with the Nascar references in the article? This totally wasn't written by a fat red neck. [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] Kids don't need all that sugary crap anyway. Eat a banana fatties. [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] Welcome to the real world where grown ups don't eat Lucky Charms out of a five gallon bucket for breakfast.
Ever notice that race cars usually have their major sponsors on them? Some of them are from companies like Kellogg or General Mills and have such cereals on the hood like Frosted Flakes and Cheerios.

So some Nascar driver might lose a sponsor, and millions of dollars? Am I supposed to care?
This is dumb and will never happen.
I wonder how far I can get if I sued a fast food restaurant because their food WASN'T making me fat. I eat junk all the time, I don't exercise, and I only weigh 145 lbs. (6'2" tall). Granted it seems I was blessed with the UBER-METABOLISM, and I know not everyone is born with that, so tell ya what. Kids getting too fat in 'Murrica? Do something that makes bicycles cheaper. Alternatively, learn to tell your little brat "no" when they beg and throw a fit in the store because you won't buy them Lucky Charms.
Don't think your bagels and pancakes are exempt. chances are, they aren't.
even if I live in canada
Salads are okay, they just need the right dressing to become tasty. (personal preference: Italian) EDIT: They're probably exempt in Canada.
That's like saying steak needs ketchup. Salads do not need dressing.
It's a personal taste thing.
Your taste is terrible.
Your taste is terrible.
I thought that was obvious
Uh.. what? When the fuck did bananas, apples, corn, and etc start having lard in them? Did you even read my post or did you just see that Sanius rated me dumb and started sucking his e-peen?
What in the fuck gave you the notion that I cared about Sanius? I don't even know him.
They need to just teach people how to make better choices and let them decide if they want to stick that nasty shit in their mouth
Let me get this straight: The government is pulling shit like this, but you know, cigarettes are OK. DID I MISS SOMETHING?
Cigarettes are a larger market in the long run.
itt dumb americans afraid of big government
are you seriously backing up food police you honestly think the federal government should be able to tell you what you eat hahahahahahaha
The government is just making the US worse. If i want to eat bad fast food in my mouth i could. Let all those people make their decisions on what to eat and what not to eat.
The government is just making the US worse. If i want to eat bad fast food in my mouth i could. Let all those people make their decisions on what to eat and what not to eat.
This has nothing to do with what you can and can not eat. It has everything to do with whether or not large corporations can market unhealthy trash to children.
are you seriously backing up food police you honestly think the federal government should be able to tell you what you eat hahahahahahaha
That's not even what they're doing
That's not even what they're doing
right sorry you honestly think the federal government should be able to tell you what you can't eat better?
better?
No.
right sorry you honestly think the federal government should be able to tell you what you can't eat better?
They are making it so that you can't market unhealthy foods to impressionable children in order to avoid bad eating habits in the long term.
snip [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] I misread the article then still, it's not like they haven't started trying to force healthy food down your throat, after all the regulations they've given fast food recently
