okay, not bad, totally reasonable that you should know how many calories you're getting in a meal
http://www.cnsnews.com/node/53374
hmm, they can't have locations in or near schools, a little overboard but it's not like the kids couldn't get it anywhere else
http://www.foodconsumer.org/newsite/Politics/32/new_laws_2010_california_bans_trans_fat_in_restaurants_010110082.html
wait, what? now they're outlawing ingredients? that's not good
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39975952/ns/business-consumer_news/t/sf-supervisors-pass-happy-meal-regulations/
and now happy meals not only must come with some kind of veggies, they're taking away the toys

because if a child wants something bad enough the parent is literally forced to buy it, right?

You're terrible at this.

maybe this is why
either that or shit parenting :v:
why the fuck does he keep eating? hes fucking killing himself slowly
maybe if he reviewed healthy things, he'd be better off.

don't even bother trying to argue it, just say "you're bad" and the argument magically goes away :downs:

like your genius "no" argument?
like your genius "no" argument?
No, like your absolutely brilliant "The gov't is forcing us to eat healthy because of some arbitrary fast food regulations! Look, they're making kids eat veggies!"
[editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
Even though they aren't forcing anyone to eat anything.
taking away options on what you can eat means you're only leaving the alternatives you approve of
whether you do that buy telling everyone to only eat foods in group A or telling everyone to absolutely not eat foods in group B, it's the same exact thing

No one is stopping you from stuffing your face with unhealthy food. Stop being such a damn alarmist.
God forbid the government try to do something to curb childhood obesity.
god forbid the government try to raise your children
god forbid the government try to raise your children
They aren't raising your children. If you want to cook greasy, nasty, shitpatties for your children, literally nothing is stopping you.
By your logic, the government is telling you what to eat by having safety regulations when dealing with raw chicken.
if you're dumb as shit and are hell-bent on eating raw chicken despite the consequences you're well aware of why should anyone stop you
if you're dumb as shit and are hell-bent on eating fast food despite the consequences you're well aware of why should anyone stop you
They are making it so that you can't market unhealthy foods to impressionable children in order to avoid bad eating habits in the long term.
So that means we should regulate food for the rest of people? That's wrong... Not only that it's sorta screwed up. What would be a better method, is not to regulate, but to teach... No, not that, "lolhealthy" bullshit which we see in PE classes. What people should be learning is how to regulate themselves to spread a meal through out a whole day. For example... I buy a big dish to go from Panda Express... I take that meal, and spread it through out the whole day, and possibly even the next day for lunch. Does that make me a lardass? Not at all.
What people are doing in a somewhat wrong is eating one whole meal, and then a few hours later they eat another high calorie meal... Taxing food which is deemed, "Unhealthy" will only put it's price on-par with healthy food, and therefore causing some people to starve. You should teach, not regulate.

That would be an amazing argument if the people who regularly feed their children fast food had...
A) Proper education on the risks of fast food
B) Money to buy something else besides fast food
C) Access to healthier, cheaper alternatives.
a) because only households with +$80,000 incomes know that holy shit fast food is bad for you!
b) which is exactly why we should tax shit like soda and french fries more, right?
c) if only that ridiculously expensive cafe down the street from that burger king didn't cost as much (and wasn't just as bad for you as the burger king)
if you're dumb as shit and are hell-bent on eating raw chicken despite the consequences you're well aware of why should anyone stop you

A) Poorer family eat more fast food. It's a fact, bro.
B) No, it's why the government should subsidize farmer's markets and fresh produce
C) See B. Or Subway.
lambeth, when you have kids you won't just instantly buy anything they want, will you?
no?
why do you assume everyone else will then?
At first I wondered why no one else would cover something like this and then I realized how simple the answer was.
A) Poorer family eat more fast food. It's a fact, bro.
like in low income neighborhoods there sometimes aren't any grocery stores so fast food is their only option.

I'm sure if I was a parent I would sometimes do anything to get them to shut up.

I'm not going to try, and sound racist with this...
It is also evident in the ghetto, and poorer neighborhoods that chicken is a more prevelant meat, because of its cheapness.

Especially down here in Alabama. There are entire neighborhoods that consider a grocery store the local gas station.

you were implying that poor people didn't know that fast food was bad for you

which they already do, you know who actually utilizes all that corn that tax money gets spent on?
the "fast food and shit that's unhealthy for you" industry
I don't get what you mean by see B, and subway is generally cheaper than most fast food, why do you think people don't eat there as often? maybe because they enjoy exercising freedom of choice and would rather eat tasty shit than healthy shit?
but the point I was trying to make is that small children don't know the difference between commercials and whatever tv show they're watching

You are literally the worst debater on Facepunch. I'd rather talk to Glaber about "Obamacare" than try to convince you that making fast food healthier isn't the end of America.
Thank fucking god. Sick of these girl scouts coming door to door every other fucking day for 4 months straight. And not to mention the ones that sit in front of stores and fucking try and block you from going in before you buy their shit.

You are literally the worst debater on Facepunch. I'd rather talk to anyone that would actually argue points and not just constantly try to avoid having to back up their argument.

I once told a group of them I was a convicted sex offender. They didn't stop trying to sell me cookies.

There is a reason people ignore the crazies at the park. It's not because the crazies have bested them all in the gentlemanly art of the debate, it's just because they are impossible to carry on a conversation with.
