Salads are fucking disgusting, bananas, apples, corn, and a bunch of other fruits and vegetables are fucking incredible though.
Add bananas, apples, corn and vegetables to your salad. It will turn your salad from shit to gold.
I will take your advice and put you on my ignore list ASAP
Thanks, I enjoy not dealing with stubborn conservative doomsayers.
Thanks, I enjoy not dealing with stubborn conservative doomsayers.
np, I hate dealing with people that are lightning quick to label others and think the government should puppeteer them
np, I hate dealing with people that are lightning quick to label others and think the government should puppeteer them
I don't think that one bit. I'm an Anarcho-Communist, but I believe if you're going to have a government, it might as well be a decent one. [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] And why haven't you ignored me already?
It's not like Trix will be banned, it's just that they can't market it to kids unless it meets a certain health standard. I don't see much wrong in that.
Both of you girlies shut up. Shit's hardly worth arguing over, let alone ignoring. I've had plenty people have a go at me, yet i've never put anyone on the ignore list.

[editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] And why haven't you ignored me already?
how can you be anarcho-communist at all, and if it has even a little bit of anarchy in it like the name suggests, shouldn't you be against someone telling you what ingredients you can't put in your burgers and how healthy your cereal needs to be before you can advertise it? and there's this nice little button that says "view post" over all your posts, only reason I ever ignore people is so that 1. I know the person I'm about to argue with is dumb as shit and I probably shouldn't bother, and 2. if I've had a bad day or I'm already pissed for some reason, the stupid stuff they're saying won't make it worse

I'd rather live in a democratic socialist society than a conservative, corporate controlled society, if I had to chose. Honestly, I didn't know you'd get this mad. It's pretty much par for there to be arguments in ITN.
So that means we should regulate food for the rest of people? That's wrong... Not only that it's sorta screwed up. What would be a better method, is not to regulate, but to teach... No, not that, "lolhealthy" bullshit which we see in PE classes. What people should be learning is how to regulate themselves to spread a meal through out a whole day. For example... I buy a big dish to go from Panda Express... I take that meal, and spread it through out the whole day, and possibly even the next day for lunch. Does that make me a lardass? Not at all. What people are doing in a somewhat wrong is eating one whole meal, and then a few hours later they eat another high calorie meal... Taxing food which is deemed, "Unhealthy" will only put it's price on-par with healthy food, and therefore causing some people to starve. You should teach, not regulate.
1. I never said that. Avoiding marketing unhealthy foods to a certain demographics isn't reducing the options of food they have nor what they can eat. If anything it's helping people make more informed decisions without the interference of advertising. 2. I don't know what you mean by "spreading out a meal", but teaching basic portion control does not tackle other equally important parts of nutritional health. Eating low fat and nutrient rich foods is also very important, and needs equal attention and reinforcement. A lot of Americans ignore this aspect of health, even though it's a massive part of health. For instance, by spreading out a meal from a panda express, you are probably not getting the range of foods and nutrients for the day in order to meet daily requirements. While I don't know what else you eat, simply spreading out a single meal does't truly tackle the issue. 3. I also never said we should tax unhealthy foods. That's the second time you've done this.
have you heard of the LCHF diet? it's better for you than a conventional diet [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] in fact the air force is considering putting all active pilots on it because it increases general awareness, alertness, and reaction times
Banned in the U.S. but not Australia? What is this \/:v:\/
did you avoid my point cccritical
did you avoid my point cccritical
in which post I'm multitasking so hard right now
because we all know nostalgia is a legitimate reason to avoid over-marketing less than healthy foods to children.
Or playing cowboys and indians (insensitive) or cops and robbers (omg kids pretending to have guns!) or even being allowed to explore their world more (everybody is a kidnapper, keep the kids inside, or no further than the edge of your block!)
Once again the government oversteps its bound because parents these days don't actually parent their kids.
Or playing cowboys and indians (insensitive) or cops and robbers (omg kids pretending to have guns!) or even being allowed to explore their world more (everybody is a kidnapper, keep the kids inside, or no further than the edge of your block!)
can you believe children these days have access to PORNOGRAPHY?!? why haven't we banned that too?
Fuck them, if people want to eat McDonalds every day and get fat and die then let them. Why the fuck should the government care what I eat?
The government should care what goes into your food, given that problems with public health cause problems for everyone. If everyone is fat, everyone's insurance goes up, higher taxes because of government programs which attempt to help the obese, etc.
Pretty much this, I don't even think such articles should be posted.
That is horribly biased. You do know some people do believe differently and have the same exact right to see and spread the information even if the majority disagree and think its bogus. Its all for the individual to decide what they want to believe in the end. Hell, some people think Fox News is the only reliable source in America but I wont limit their freedom of information or speech just because they don't think things through. They have a right and I'll just be wary of what I listen from them. If this is true and not some over-exaggerated piece of crap then I truly fear for America. It pisses me off to see my little cousins getting fat because their parents are fat and don't know how to eat properly. Hell, its easy. You can stay fat but just sign your kid up for a sport. Or don't let them eat oreo cookies or force them to eat fruit and vegetables. I think child neglect should cover parents who have obese children. After all, it makes sense. They are basically aiding in the death of their child. Why not smoke with them in the same room too.
i still don't think any of you understand the psychological impact of these advertisements like you aren't ok with the government regulating advertising but for some reason you're ok with massive corporations subliminally raiding your child's mind
my mind was "subliminally raided" and I grew up fine so was yours I'm 19 years old, 6 foot 2, 151 pounds and not swoll but cut, I ate trix/cocoa puffs/captain crunch/fruit loops/count chocula every damn morning from before I can remember until the end of 5th grade and I'm in better shape than most people
o ok two people ended up "fine" according to dr. cccritical i guess there's no problem then
Maybe it's because The cereal companies have been advertising to kids ever since they could. Some dating back to the 1910's. Heck even Campbell advertised to kids.
Maybe it's because The cereal companies have been advertising to kids ever since they could. Some dating back to the 1910's. Heck even Campbell advertised to kids.
You know who else advertised to kids? Tobacco companies.

Fuck the food police
in which post I'm multitasking so hard right now

but the point I was trying to make is that small children don't know the difference between commercials and whatever tv show they're watching
[editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
You know who else advertised to kids? Tobacco companies.
you know who else advertises to kids? pretty much everyone
how are you doing today food lobbyists?
[editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
I don't understand what you mean by that, and I don't know where you're getting that 'fact' from [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
o ok two people ended up "fine" according to dr. cccritical i guess there's no problem then
o ok children are having their "minds raided" according to dr. lazor SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN
You know who else advertised to kids? Tobacco companies.
True, but in their case, cigarettes and Tobacco were a health risk to everyone who was around the smoker. You can't say the same thing about surgery cereals. To make the comparison more absurd, I have never even heard of anyone getting fat from second hand cereal eating.
