I guess the inclusion of low-res DLC assets is just so you can still play on servers that use it, and that there's no need to buy the DLC so you can play a mod that shares assets with it.

Maybe someone will release higher res textures for them (if its possible). I think the thing BI want people to pay for is the campaign you get, not the content.
Still, a good idea (and only the second game I have seen to do this) so you don't split a community with optional content.

It costs more because (in my opinion) it's better, it feels a lot more real because of the current wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Anyway, BIS kinda fucked up with this because everything they made is something that the community has either already made, or could make (with more stuff as well). And apparently the campaign is really short, I'm not gonna buy it, just play with normal units, this DLC isn't really game changing anyway.
Guys the Free DLC update. Not only the textures are fucked, but the voices are super low quality. You can barely make our what they are saying.
So we get all the assets at the lowest possible quality?

Just so you don't have to buy a DLC to host a server with it or use mods that depends on some of it's content.
Just bought it, the new missions are really cool. Way better than that dumb peninsular war DLC for Napoleon I bought :/
