I wish killstreaks were like CoD4 as a side reward and all the same for everyone, or at least being able to upgrade them like, UAV lasting slightly longer. If I had an airstrike pending on CoD4 on a team game, there's a better chance someone has a pending UAV or one already in the air because of all of us having the same loadout.
Lol, hating Call of Duty is too mainstream now.
Even more games known for this: Sly Cooper series, Ratchet and Clank series, all sports games, Skate series, BF1942-BF2142 are the same exact formula and feel with minor additions, just a change in setting and theme (just like CoD), Mario Party, etc. I could go on but you get the point, not every game needs revolutionary new features and most don't, just enjoy it, or don't but, stop crying about it. If you don't plan on buying it don't buy it, no one else gives a fuck though. I'll be enjoying MW3 just as much as I did the previous installments this November.
Here's the problem with your theory.
There aren't 8 sequels to any of those games.
it seemed like you were trying to prove a point, sorry.
yes
it, along with blops, was developed by treyarch,
unlike mw1 and mw2- which are developed by iw
[editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
I'm not talking about those who are having fun playing it,
but rather those who start bringing up the hl2 episodes into the discussion.
I was simply pointing out games very similar to the game before it, sorry I don't love the same games as you!
Lol, hating Call of Duty is too mainstream now.
I'm going to start hating CoD now, so when everyone decides they love it, I'll already be one step ahead. I'm like some thrice inverses quasi double hipster.
I don't get why you guys are so harsh on the CoD series. You're just a bunch of hipsters about it really. "I don't like it because it's popular."
Hell, you're like /v/ about anything that isn't a JRPG
apparently, i'm dumb because I have my own taste in games. Go click on my steam profile, look at my games.
I don't dislike the new COD games because they're popular, I dislike them because they're not very good games.
Even when COD 4 came out (which is the last COD I bought) I played through the singleplayer and thought it was alright, certainly not bad. Then I played multiplayer for about 2 days and found it extremely boring, so I haven't bought a COD since because I don't want to pay $100 for something that I don't find fun. Instead, I can just stick with CSS which I payed $10 over 6 years ago and have been playing since.
I'll probably give MW3 a try, seeing how IW is usually more ambitious than Treyarch (In MP atleast)
IIRC WaW MP was the exact same CoD4 except for the fact that it was WWII, there were tanks, and you could choose your grenades.
MW2 changed a huge amount of multiplayer stuff for COD:
Different equipment instead of grenades
Pro Perks
Different Types of Secondary Weapons (Shotguns, Machine Pistols, Launchers)
Selectable Killstreaks
And then Black Ops just re-did most of what MW2 did, except let you draw a penis on your gun and insert COD Points so you unlock things slower to compensate for the lack of unlockables on higher levels. And with mostly re-done killstreaks, maybe 1 new perk, and adding wager matches.
(And "player customization" which turned out to be almost total bullshit except for the fact that you could wear ugly face camos)
i think treyarch should just fuck off and stop making games
I hope the MW3 killstreaks are impressive.
I hope the MW3 killstreaks are impressive.
I hope it's a good game.

You are dumb for assuming we dislike the game for some bullshit reasons (like because it's not a JRPG, rofl) and for your personal attack that doesn't make any fucking sense whatsoever to anything past the unicellular stage.
But really, what are you expecting from an FPS? AMAZING NEW innovative gameplay on a game that's centered around a modern military shooter style?
I expect a game to be at least a bit different than it's predecessor. Not to be the previous game with different models and maps.
If you said yes, you're fucking retarded.
You are fucking retarded for buying the same game 3 times and not seeing it.
Rehash.
You sound just like /v/.
What a great fucking argument!
The games obviously bring nothing to the table because millions of people buy it and love it, and play it for hours on end.
Implying the game is innovative because it's popular.
It's not your money. Who are you to say what I should spend it on?
So it's not "this game is good" anymore but "don't tell me what to do with my money" now? Idiot.
I'm sorry for being late with this but people like this meatball make me rage.
Here's the problem with your theory.

You could count Battlefield, except that BC1 --> BC2 --> BF3 were major changes. Mostly in graphics, and new gameplay features such as destruction.
Compared to other games coming this year, MW3 doesn't look impressive at all to me.
I'll play it and I'll ENJOY it
Okay. Have fun then. I don't plan on buying it.
You guys complaining about the plot of CoD games would do well to realise that they are pretty much the same as the average pulp fiction novel.
Watching people tell other people that they are wrong for enjoying a video game is incredibly sad.
Watching people tell other people that they are wrong for enjoying a video game is incredibly sad.
Understanding that all the new CoDs are basically the same game and yet still enjoying it is fine by me, but it's a waste of money in my opinion.
Arguing that all the CoDs are different from each other and going "you don't like it because it's not JRPG" is stupid.
Ok that is your opinion. Maybe you should stop spending so much time and energy picking apart people for liking video games and go play video games you like?

And you are saying that I shouldn't tell people what to buy/do/enjoy but then you are telling me what to do?
I have a love hate relationship with CoD. I fairly enjoyed MW2 because it's a fun game to play with friends. Just as long as you're having a good time, it's a fine game to me.
Also I liked the lobby system they had in MW2. They just need to make it like in L4D where you're in a lobby but it would join a dedicated server instead of shitty listen servers.
Here is evidence MW2 is fun.

If MW3 brings back the Riot Shield, I might just buy it earlier.

I'm just saying that there is no real reason to go into a thread about games you don't care about and call them wastes of money.
Like, when there are news posts for games I don't like I just ignore the thread.

Battlefield is the closest, but a lot of them pretty much completely separate. BC1-BC3 is the closest to actual related sequels it has (that I know of)

yeah i'd be angry too if i was a giant hypocrite
Thats what they said before they released black ops. "Oh we're gonna add this really cool never before seen and totally unique kill streak".
We end up getting this one stupid R/C car with a fucking bomb on it.
I personally dislike it because it's a bad game, by a faceless corporation that only exists to take money from consumers.
You do know that companies exist to make money, right?
How could they completely change it? It'll still be get a certain amount of kills, get a overpowered killstreak.
Why not invent something completely new?
World at War is fucking amazing.
And that's all I have to say. About that.
yeah i'd be angry too if i was a giant hypocrite
You are so illiterate it's getting sad.
One was "if someone doesn't like what I like I will insult him" the other was "you are stupid for not seeing/denying that those games are the same".

What are you talking about? This is some kind of youtube fanboys' way of thinking. "Don't comment on something you don't like". I shouldn't visit the threads about Libya or any catastrophe, murder, accident, ect, if I'd follow this logic.
-snip-
I should read the whole thread.
