You forget that even though it is a nation of immigrants, the Natives never really "owned" the land. They shared it with each other, more than claiming that a single bit of land was theirs. Besides, it's far too late to just hand it back to them. Unfortunately, they're far too few in numbers, and to just force out anyone who isn't a Native would turn the Americas into a wasteland, and leave hundreds of millions of people without a land to "call their own."
