The comments as usual provide the most amusement. What about giving Christians equal rights with other workers, from what has happening of late Christians have very few rights. - st , spain, Spain, 07/4/2013 11:56 This country gets stranger and stranger Can someone please introduce a Department for common sense please in the Government!? The US has a lot of detractors on this website but they aren't so daft as this country when it comes to stuff like this - just saying what you are thinking , Southport, 07/4/2013 12:04 The world is slowly going mad - Jack, Nederland, Netherlands, 7/4/2013 11:43 Oh no not another charter for 'look-at-me-ism'! - Big Vern, On the Inside, 7/4/2013 11:31
Guess it's about time to start Christians' Rights Activism.
If you created a religion that gives you unlimited holidays no one would hire you in the first place
It's illegal to turn someone down because of their religion, you could sue them
Now you're not even making sense. First you were surprised at the idea at treating established religions equally, because it might lead to people inventing religions on the spot to suit their own personal needs. Then you asked how do we recognise what is an established religion, then in the same sentence provided an answer: saying that there is already a legal framework in which countries decide what constitutes as established and otherwise. Basically you're getting your fedora in a spin over nothing.
No basically we treat them equally, with no extra privileges granted to holding certain beliefs.
It's illegal to turn someone down because of their religion, you could sue them
But you dont turn them down beacouse of their religion You turn them down beacouse they refuse to work
It's illegal to turn someone down because of their religion, you could sue them
I'm sorry but if your religion is "not to work a single day", no court is going to contest any decision not to hire you. Think.
It's not like druids don't have their own issues though. The idea that you need to be level 14 to challenge for leadership of a grove is ridiculous.
druids?
Druids are OP. Nerf resto please
My intellect and intelligence are reaffirmed by this news, and I am now euphoric. May the great Sagan, Hitchens, and le'Grasse Tyson be with you. NO-gOD BLESS THE EHRC!
It's interesting to compare the comments between this article and this one: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2262628/Nadia-Eweida-Christian-British-Airways-employee-wins-landmark-case-ECHR-finds-suffered-discrimination-silver-cross.html No praise for the EU above, yet in this one the EU is a horrible organisation that wastes time
the chair thing is ridiculous the chairs already been made it's too late to save that cow, you may as well let it be of use and sit on it
How about we let people believe what they like, but don't treat them any differently because of it. If druids wish to go on a pilgrimage, they can do it in their time. If vegans don't want to sit in leather chairs, they can find other chairs.
the chair thing is ridiculous the chairs already been made it's too late to save that cow, you may as well let it be of use and sit on it
I hate leather chairs, but that's because they're uncomfortable when it's hot inside, or against your naked skin (not fully naked).
the chair thing is ridiculous the chairs already been made it's too late to save that cow, you may as well let it be of use and sit on it
It think it's more about not supporting what they did to the cow/horse to make that chair it's kinda like a bad game, why should you complain/boycott a game if it's already out and exists?
Still waiting for Solism to be a recognised religion.
Except paganism of the kind described as where you take pilgrimages to Stonehenge are modern inventions. Plus, why should religions be more important than another based on their age or number of followers?
Yeah man, as a Norse pagan I don't do shit like pilgrimages. That shit is work. All I do is worship the AEsir and celebrate Yule which happens at the same time as Christmas.
Wait hold up. People were literally being bullied over their diet lifestyles?
I believe even Facepunch is guilty of that...
Human Rights are just a post-ww2 western world invention

Sure, give all the breaks to the druids while paladins across the world languish.
