Yeah, those fucking nerds. How dare the feel secure enough about their hobbies to be public about it.
Yeah! How dare they! They should stick to their basements, like the lonely virgins they are.
I mean, it's not like there's any chance of them getting more ass than normal bar-goers.
This is where all of the neckbeards go and decide to try and get laid.
Its a cool concept but the people who go there are all like HUERR EIGHT BIT MUSIC IS SO GOOD.
At most of the Lan parties I've been to I, socialized a lot with people I never met before so that aspect seems okay.
But even casual gaming turns competitive and might cause some tension which mixed with alcohol seems like a bad idea.
And that's why sports bars are dangerous places to be and cause massive problems... wait...
Somehow, when I read the words "Mana Bar" and "to expand to Sydney, Melbourne and Internationally", I honestly thought it was a humorous play on words to say that the fucking gigantic spiders living in Australia were spreading worldwide (according to the running joke that Australian spiders are so large they have a health and mana bar)

Yes... we do have weird spiders down under?
I'm pretty sure your guy's spiders ain't got shit on South America's.
Then again, fucking EVERYTHING in Australia is poisonous or deadly somehow.
I hate it when pricks like Yahtzee succeed...
I mean, his game reviews are funny and all, but he's a massive asshole.
Might try this if it comes to Sweden when I'm 18.
The people in that video look like such misfits.. All of them are squeeky..
Shits gonna be packed in sydney.
Can't wait though :)
Just sounds like a large cyber cafe to me. Except with a silly name and alcohol.

He's not an asshole. He's just your typical judgemental brit.
This isn't news.

I've heard stories that state otherwise. There's even a few FPers that've met him and said that his personality was essentially a goatse.

On a site where 99% of people are avid gamers, i'd say it is.
Also this is awesome, if one does come to the UK it'd be in london though which sucks.

No, it's simply not news. The only possible way this could be less news is if it were placed beside an acai berry supplement ad.

Its news for Australian gamers.

Eight bit music is good.
Deal with it.
Gab, hate being under 18.
Please don't let this come to Arizona... Social meetings.. ESPECIALLY GAMING. Doesn't mix well with alcoholic beverages, and guns.
Yes... It's legal to bring a gun out in a bar in Arizona. If you have a liscense you can bring out a gun in public to repair, and show to your friends. No. I'm not kidding.

Where did you hear the stories?
Fucking awesome idea, I wish the place where I live would have something like this. Then again, where I live is a pretty small place, not a lot of gamers.
I want five in Finland :iia:
How did this get into the thread? This thing's Australian.
i want one of these in my city (Los Angeles)
all the dives and bars here are sub-par...i would actually go to one of these.
Hopefully they open one of these here.

When my friend plays games with me drunk, he just laughs his ass off at everything.
Then again, he's a really chill guy so I wouldn't expect him to get mad over anything.

If it's something particularly interesting that's happening that is worth sharing, I consider that news. I'd rather hear about mana bar expanding than some 5 year old who can play the piano on CNN. I mean, that's cool but not exactly my thing.

I dunno, seems people are too secluded at Cyber Cafes. I've only ever had a few people approach me at my Cyber Cafe to be like "Hey, want to play some CS:S?" and it was loads of fun.
This sounds like a great way to meet some fellow gamers, blow off some steam, and just play some Xbox with random people in-person.
I'm a fighter class...can't use mana :v:
I'll pay with imported games for Yahtzee to review.
Looks pretty fucking cool! Hope they become successful and the trend continues.

I have been there, and i dont really think anyone would get serious over a game of wii bowling or Guitar hero

Agreed. But I'm sure there are people out there that would :P
so is this like Cydus for console nerds instead of computer nerds
