I would want to see a new mario game, something that uses the consoles features. Would love a platformer and rpg hybrid.
Nah. Speaking as someone who's a huge fan of Wario and has played the Wario Land series extensively, it wouldn't fit and they shouldn't do it. His games have their own tone and theme. More Wario Land games? Yeah. But don't dumb down his character by trying to shoehorn him in as a sidekick in a main Mario game. His character goes hand in hand with the gameplay in the Wario Land series in a beautiful way, and it just wouldn't translate.
What I loved most about the Wario Land branch in the series is that everything accentuated the differences between Mario and Wario. This ranges from the goals being selfless vs selfish, the movement being nimble agility vs brute force, and even the music and instrument choice has an energetic vibe vs a blunt tone. Wario just wouldn't work in a Mario platform game, because Mario games are built for Mario's mobility. Now, that's not to say that it can't happen, but it'd need to be in a game specifically catered to reflect the differences in how the characters move around their world and how they engage their enemies. The Mario & Luigi RPG series is an oft cited example of what 2 very different characters can accomplish in-tandem.
U R MR NVS? [sp]The sparkles on the original SMG logo highlighted the letters U R MR GAY and then the SMG 2 logo had the sparkles moved, but when you read them in reverse they said "YA I AM R U".[/sp]
"Us Mr. Vin" scrambled. ... I didn't have much to work with!
If they do make a SMG3, I hope they do away with 3D World's gimped controls. There was no advantage to using the more advanced jumps, as they all went as high/far.
To me Sunshine 2 would be a much better choice. Sunshine ended in a slight cliffhanger that can easily be used for a sequel, Galaxy and Galaxy 2 don't really have anything else unless they repeat the story again. And come on, does anyone really want to go through the same story after Galaxy 2?

and then they have zero gravity levels to replace giant annoying water spheres and then give you SPACE FLUDD to navigate them
Please make Super Wario Galaxy. Please, Miyamoto, please.
yeah I wouldn't mind a 64-like game with the fast of sunshine
do something like sunshine 2 where the game world is grounded thematically bc that was way more immersive than other marios and kicked ass
I loved galaxy, but can we please get a new 64? that recent demo remake has fired me up again.
I loved galaxy, but can we please get a new 64? that recent demo remake has fired me up again.
Demo remake? Like fan made or something made by nintendo (akin to the zelda one they did eariler that lead up to windwaker hd)?
Demo remake? Like fan made or something made by nintendo (akin to the zelda one they did eariler that lead up to windwaker hd)?
Fanmade. It was cease and desisted by Nintendo iirc.
Fanmade. It was cease and desisted by Nintendo iirc.
Yeah, it was cease-and-desisted apparently because it directly used a ton of models and textures from Super Mario Galaxy (and even some ripped from Super Mario 3D World, such as the smoke trails) set them up to be functional in Unity, they seem more tolerant about fangames if they create their own content.
Galaxy was so slow compared to Sunshine and 64. I understand they're trying to appeal to a wider audience by making the games easy as fuck, but god damn Sunshine was so much more fun than both Galaxies. I enjoyed both Galaxy games but I never went to replay them like I did with Sunshine.
to be fair, an easier mario game isn't a terrible thing. It's a really, really good way to ease stress. meanwhile sunshines a good way to scream at a monitor
I'm sure Galaxy 3 would get decent attention, I'm kinda indifferent about it though. Nintendo's kinda in a weird void right now.

I could understand it from Nintendo's point of view though, no idea why Nintendo hunts down these people though (same thing happened to that html5 mario remake), at least they are being more lenient on videos :v:

I'd prefer if they went back to Super Mario 64 or Sunshine. The entire Gravity aspect of Galaxy 1 and 2 made me kinda dizzy, and kept me from enjoying the game. Sadly.
we don't need anymore galaxy we didn't even need a galaxy 2 galaxy 1 was perfect, please don't put mario in space again :(
Galaxy was charming the first time around, then the second game was a neat way to show off the rest of his ideas. A third would just be tiring. Galaxy offered the design benefit of letting you have some levels be random sections floating around as planets, offering a more disconnected design method. It starts to feel more uninspired the more you look at it.
Sunshine is the answer
To the people who say sunshine: couldn't they just easily incorporate things from sunshine into galaxy
To the people who say sunshine: couldn't they just easily incorporate things from sunshine into galaxy
Not everyone is into the whole "running around planets" thing and even makes some people motion sick. Some people just want a Sunshine-styled game and nothing more.
It doesn't even have to be FLUDD, paint and stuff. It doesn't even have to be a direct sequel to Sunshine, they could probably do something new. But the idea of a game world that isn't just paintings or floating random planets, and instead actually has thematic consistency combined with solid base mechanics that get plenty of variety with each level is pretty damn good. Galaxy does do variety, but just another Galaxy with FLUDD thrown in would be dumb.
