There were people talking on the radio yesterday about the one in Vancouver. They themselves didn't know what the fuck they were doing. This is so unorganized it's hilarious.

As someone who was posting in the past about being unemployed and nearly homeless while living in one of the worst housing markets in the world, you should be a little more sympathetic to people's concerns about the income gap.
I never expected this whole "occupy" movement to spread anywhere else. What's next?
Let's play the future game, I love this shit:
A. The occupy movement continues to spread, higher class countries change for the better, lower class countries turn violent. Some governments succeed in suppression, some get overthrown. Riots break out, revolutions are started. The USA exhibits constitutional change and amendments, peaceful protesting succeeds. B1. Occupy movement spreads, but turns violent in many countries. Many countries exhibit intense rioting followed by civil war and regime change. Some countries succeed in quelling insurrection and stopping the rioters. The USA starts to fracture as the occupy movement spreads to every major city, and then turns violent. Civil War breaks out all across the country, the government deploys troops on American soil to fight the insurrection. The most intense fighting takes place in New York, beginning with urban guerrilla combat against the NYPD but escalates as the military is deployed, turning the fighting into a full-on revolution against the government. The country divides into two sides; The revolutionary front, composed of militiamen, civilians, and US military defectors, and Pre-War US loyalist soldiers. Loyalist civilians are drafted into the Military. The war effectively fractured the US military, thousands defect to the revolution and take stolen munitions and war machines with them. The US maintains high technological standards, the military is well-equipped and well-trained, but numbers are steadily decreasing. B-a. The revolution gains power with an increasing amount of people defecting from the now-corrupt US Military system. Battles take place all over the US, major cities turned into war zones. Fortunately, the destruction is not extensive. The US Military was instructed to preserve structures, especially major skyscrapers and infrastructure such as bridges and former government buildings. Mortar shelling, aircraft bombing, and artillery fire is at a minimum throughout the war, most combat takes place between infantry. The most heated battles break out in places of high strategic value but minimum population, especially in the mountains. The combination of these factors benefits the revolution, making it easier to combat the better-equipped US Military. Morale in the military drops, thousands defect as the revolutionaries conquer more and more territory, moving outward from the heartland to the coast. Defectors bring with them stolen equipment and munitions, along with strategies on assaulting bases and stealing aircraft, tanks and assault vehicles. The west coast is taken, with the most fighting taking place in Las Vegas and L.A. (Las Vegas being the most devastated of the two as the US Military surprisingly deployed an entire fleet of attack helicopters in an act of desperation, whose Air-to-Surface missiles destroyed, gutted, and razed many buildings). By this time, the military has rescinded all orders to protect infrastructure, L.A. is devastated by bombing runs and artillery fire, civilian casualties are in the thousands. Throughout the war, Canada proclaims neutrality but secretly supplies the revolution with munitions and escape routes to Canadian soil for rescued civilians. As the west coast falls to the revolutionary front, an attack on DC and the remainder of the east coast is prepared and launched in an all-out invasion in the most brutal combat of the entirety of the war. The target is the Pentagon, by this time reinforced in a citadel-like manner to house the commanders of the US Military and the political officials such as the President and the Vice President. The fighting lasts for days before the officials of the former US Government surrender. The leaders of the revolution utilize their vast numbers to commence rebuilding efforts right away, quartering civilians in temporary living structures while the effort to rebuild continues. A new government is created, a now-famous general of the revolution is elected President, and the Constitution of the United States is rewritten by a committee of high-ranking leaders with input from various professors, scholars, and philosophers. The United States is rebuilt under a new government reminiscent of the original design of the constitution according to the founding fathers which ushers in a new era of peace and tolerance as the nation is rebuilt with support from many allies globally, mainly our Canadian comrades that assisted the revolution. Refugees that fled to Canada are transported back to the new USA. Political leaders from around the world recognize the new President of the USA as benevolent and respectable, easing tension and creating allies. B-b. The US military overpowers and crushes the revolution with their superior technology. As numbers diminish, so does morale. The military operates ruthlessly. At the opening of the war, they minimized their use of artillery fire and bombing to preserve cities, but as the war progressed, these orders were outright ignored by major military officials. Cities such as Detroit are razed in the fighting, New York and LA are now ruins. Hundreds surrender and are taken prisoner, quartered in dystopian slums governed by the occupying military. Leaders of the revolution are either killed in combat or captured and publicly executed, the government turns into a military construct, operating purely to combat the revolution with firepower and propaganda. As the civil war ends, the former US Government assumes control over America once more, but under the rule of a relentless military junta, governed by a board of directors - the United Coalition of America. Canada dissociates itself from the UCA right away, followed by all of America's former allies, and begins to invest in a larger military. When queried about speculation connecting Canada with the revolution, the Board responds that it has nothing to say, and goes silent. Military bases and government structures are rebuilt and reinforced. The pentagon is turned into a citadel strong enough to withstand a nuclear blast, guarded by snipers and tanks day and night, the military is utilized for policing. Morale is completely gone from the American people, mass graves are commonplace outside of major cities.
Holy fuck why did I type all of this what the hell
The world revolution is at hand, comrades! :ussr:
Let's play the future game, I love this shit:
Berlusconi declares himself Emperor, releases the lions. But on a more serious note, I really hope they don't fuck up any historical sites with their vandalism.
It's Italy, point in any random direction and you'll find something to protest over there. Their whole system is corrupt as fuck, if anyone in the first world should be rioting it's Italy. [editline]15th October 2011[/editline] Started as Occupy Wall Street and spread Protests about income inequality basically
Elaborate please. It's not that I don't believe you, its just that I never knew Italy was fucked up enough for these riots to just start.
Elaborate please. It's not that I don't believe you, its just that I never knew Italy was fucked up enough for these riots to just start.
When 2/3 of your leader's wikipedia article is the "Controversies" section, it's generally not a good sign :v:
In all seriousness though I really hope this doesn't echo through the other OW-inspired protests throughout the world.
now how long before V makes his grand entrance and people put on their Guy Faukes masks?

Aand my mother just went to Italy, Rome for five days.
First the earthquake.. Then the hurricane.. Now world-wide riots..
Sums up how our (dumb) media are now looking at the manifestations:
First the earthquake.. Then the hurricane.. Now world-wide riots..
Perhaps this is the answer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzqiPvGrkTo
