I took the liberty and made Google's new Chrome logo for them. [t]http://puu.sh/4vre2.png[/t] Where's my paycheck
Congratulations, you copied an artstyle instead of creating your own as these people did ur AMAAAZIINGG~~~
Welcome to the next generation! Minimalistic 2D shit!
Not even close with those drop shadows
Looks like I'm part of the Chrome rollout, personally I like it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/xlMigfM.png[/t] Nicer the the old New Tab window.
That's stupid The search bar isn't necessary, they should use all that space to integrate Google Now with Chrome so you get the same cards from your phone on your desktop as well
It's not even a real text box. If you click it your cursor will blink there but the second you start typing it all goes into the omnibox.
I think its a bit funny how googles new "modern" flat logo is praised, but every other company that did it was flamed
the nostalgia crowd finally got over logo changes I guess
It's not even a real text box. If you click it your cursor will blink there but the second you start typing it all goes into the omnibox.
Wow, so they're even admitting it's completely pointless?
It's not even a real text box. If you click it your cursor will blink there but the second you start typing it all goes into the omnibox.
That's been pissing me off.
Microsoft wins in the largest overhaul of logos overtime.
I like how they were a disco and metal band
How to make your logo modern: remove all of the effects you did in photoshop
Minimalistics are taking over next just shorten the name, making it Goo
Congratulations, you copied an artstyle instead of creating your own as these people did ur AMAAAZIINGG~~~
Google invented the idea of flat matte logos omg you're so right I feel so dumb thank you for showing me the light geel
Even Apple wasn't always minimalist. Their first logo:
I wonder when they'll make the logo entirely black.

this was needed tbh since the current black bar was kinda redundant looking on the search result pages though one would think that they could have a solution that didn't require an extra click and a hunt through icons just to get to a subsection from the homepage [editline]22nd September 2013[/editline]
Bleh. In all honesty I'm not a very big fan of the flat logos trend. I'm hoping it doesn't last very long. I'm very aware I have to put up with it, though. Fads come and go. I'm just ready for the next one already.
It's just getting rid of inane bullshit from the logo imo - having less unnecessary beveled edges and tacky 3D shit to work with puts the pressure on the logo designer to come up with something cool and memorable. Of course then there is always the temptation just to make your logo consist of just something someone typed in photoshop in a sans serif typeface a la microsoft, which is just kinda lazy. That said it still works because of the windows logo and colours next to it.
I wonder when they'll make the logo entirely black.
Never, the colours are an important part of the brand
Also these flat logos look far, far better in the context of webpages and are much more readable on small screens than the old ones. I mean, the old chrome logo still looks kinda cool imo but it's just not a great icon because there's a load of extraneous shiny stuff and for some reason it looks like it's at a 45 degree angle.

Works on Google.co.uk too. Just change domain=google.com to google.co.uk: Old
document.cookie="PREF=ID=e66a207a51ceefd8:U=936bafc98b2a9121:FF=0:LD=en:NR=10:CR=2:TM=1378808351:LM=1379592992:SG=1:S=OXyq0fqClYB66VuV ; path=/; domain=google.com";window.location.reload();
New
document.cookie="PREF=ID=e66a207a51ceefd8:U=936bafc98b2a9121:FF=0:LD=en:NR=10:CR=2:TM=1378808351:LM=1379592992:SG=1:S=OXyq0fqClYB66VuV ; path=/; domain=google.co.uk";window.location.reload();

Google is good at keeping their logo modern without anyone noticing they've changed it (1998-1999) (1999-2010) (2010-2013) (2013-)
It kinda looks like a collection of balloons slowly being deflated
only thing steve jobs did was utilize the power of nice sleek minimalism
