wow wtf people can quickly get to the really neat stuff if they dont have all day to play the game because they have a job and can convert that time into money?
wtf rockstar eat my dick
They mention that its balanced which to me suggests things are going to be level / rep locked still. So you can't start MP, buy $100k and have everything straight away.
That aside, assuming your post is sarcasam you kind of make a point I made in another thread, not everyone has time to play non stop and earn money as some people do and for them being able to get money from other means will make the game enjoyable for them.
Why are people being so negative, at least let it play out for a few weeks and see if it is awful before writing it off.
If it was any other game doing this, you would all be up in arms. Hypocrites.
People are dumb because they have concerns over things such as negative impacts on non-payers (like grind) and, more importantly, potentially ruined modability?

Most players will earn cash much faster Online than in Story Mode.
seeing as you get 1mil~ for the very first heist in the SP and it just goes up from there i think it'll be okay
and it's not going to be less moddable than GTAIV so??
If it was any other game doing this, you would all be up in arms. Hypocrites.
No because most (sane) people would judge the implementation of microtransactions on an individual basis rather than looking at that word and flying off the handle with uncontrollable lonely nerd rage
If it was any other game doing this, you would all be up in arms. Hypocrites.
I can contain my nerdrage long enough to realize that Rockstar is a business and businesses are intended to make money. They've set out to make a killing off of GTAV and by God, they've done it.
I'd just play gta:O with my friends. I dont care if someone on the server didnt earn the money ingame for the fancy car that he is driving.
as long as there aren't any direct upgrades like health/weapons that do more damage related to money it shouldn't unbalance the game at all. just like TF2, every weapon is unique and there aren't any weapons that make other weapons useless once you get it
snip, "b-but my precious rockstar is perfect!!", yeah bandwagoning as usual

No one should be up in arms till they have tried it. We are talking about a feature that is no one has tried. It could work really well and R* might change the way people think about microtransactions.
Just remembered this isn't even an MMO styled game and micro-transactions won't really disrupt shit.
I will no longer bother with this that much. The entire point of earning money is now gone, for me, personally. I know I can completely ignore this and continue playing but any worthiness from playing well, and often is negated by the fact people can just buy with real cash. Not to mention the initial stages of release where you'll have people wielding AK's and rocket launchers with body armour, where as people who don't spend real money would have to earn that through gameplay.
But I still stick with what I say somewhat.
To be honest I'm more disappointed by the 16 players limit, which was to be expected anyway.
It is ridiculous to even think there would be more then 16 players on current gen consoles. It says from launch it will be 16 which pretty much implies what people were thinking anyways that 32 players will be with the next gen version of the game.
See? This is why Saints Row IV is superior. They don't have this stuff, you buy the game and you get all the content you need. It should be GOTY, but Watch Dogs is coming out soon so idk lol
just gotta wait and see. i got gta 5 and its alright. really wish gta:o was not delayed
A-okay
Honestly if the presence of the ability to buy stuff in game as opposed to earning it turns you off, you should probably recheck your priorities.
No not really. It's perfectly understandable honestly.
If it was any other game doing this, you would all be up in arms. Hypocrites.
Like I said in the other thread people should actually wait till online is out before criticizing it, they said they will be implementing it in a way where you can only buy things buy level so you don't gain a serious advantage over others.
You most likely just gain a time advantage which is one of the better ways to implement microtransations.
It won't turn out to be pay to win.

Ok so I guess that makes it ok that EA included day one DLC on the disk because they could make quick bucks of it?
People have already paid full price for this game, and now I'm gonna be terribly outmatched against someone who can afford to get the nicest gear on day one.
And that will basically kill modding
Good luck with that.

Excuses, excuses. In the end, if EA implemented this same system then everyone would be getting mad but because its Rockstar who everyone loves then we let it slide. Absolutely ridiculous.

Day one DLC and optional microtransactions are two completely different things, quit being a sperg.

Because if EA did it, it would be pay to win. On the off chance it wasn't pay to win, only self entitled ignorant kids would complain.
you always overhype the shit out of games
i saw you cumming your pants (and subsequently being butthurt about the delaying of the cbt) in the pd2 thread, then you hated it and never played it again when it came out
Off topic, but what's CBT?
the closed beta
wat
I wasn't around for that. I started posting in the thread around the same time it first came out. There's hundreds of people that agree with me, but obviously, going against a fan's opinion of the game will get you lots of back-lash. Get over yourself.
on-topic: EA is bad, R* is good
You guys are getting way too worked up over this.
ea implemented literally the same system in dead space 3 and it still caused a dumb sperg outrage, and guess what, ds3 was super fucking easy and i had everything i wanted to craft by the end of it
But literally no-one defended the implementation of it in Dead Space 3 and yet its fine in GTA V. It's just dumb.

I certainly don't mind the system in DS3 because I never paid into that, either. Loved the game, too!

I never played DS3, but were the microtransactions in singleplayer?
Because if EA did it, it would be pay to win. On the off chance it wasn't pay to win, only self entitled ignorant kids would complain.
It's still pay to win in this situation too. It doesn't about "Oh hurr durr you need a certain level to access them" its still in the game when it shouldn't be. Keep rating my posts dumb though if that makes you happy as you usually do.

Who is saying it's fine
One person =/= Whole community
I never played DS3, but weren't the microtransactions in singleplayer?
Maybe but I could still use other examples of games that have used micro transactions in the multiplayer. It makes no difference, this forum is full of hypocrites.

Yeah, just keep pretending that you know what game developers should be doing more than they do.

I'm talking about the general consensus of the forum. Not just one person.
