Well shit. I loved him in Ghostbusters. Such a great actor.
A damn shame. No witty comment to try to lighten the mood or anything, just a damn shame. Ghostbusters was a big part of my childhood and its sucks that one of the people responsible is gone.
Dammit. . .why couldn't it have been Bill Murray? Also, people at work (all between 16 and 23) asked why I was down today. I said "Harold Ramis died." They said "Who?" I sawllowed my rage, put on a smile, and said "You know, Egon Spengler. From Ghostbusters." None of them had ever seen Ghostbusters. THERE IS NO FUCKING EXCUSE FOR THAT SHIT. Seriously, if I set them all on fire, no jury in the world would convict me, right?
if they replace Harold in ghost busters 3 they should replace him with Rick Moranis to be honest hes even coming back into acting since last year so theres a good chance he could replace Egon and say Egon died or retired or moved in ghost busters 3.
Guys, it was a hoax. http://en.mediamass.net/people/harold-ramis/deathhoax.html [editline]24th February 2014[/editline] Looks like this ghost was busted.

Looks like I should have checked more thoroughly when I got sent the link.
CNN is reporting it.
This is terrible, one of the Ghostbusters is gone? I always hoped i wouldn't have to see this day.
The original plot to Ghostbusters had the Ghostbusters as an already-established service, like the Fire Department, with franchises in most major US cities. Maybe for Ghostbusters III, Egon could just be off in another state, setting up a Ghostbusters West Coast franchise, or something. Hey, I can dream. The Ghostbusters game made me believe that a third movie could work. It had a good story, and it was great to see the team back together.

Ghostbusters was my childhood film, I could probably quote the whole movie. I am genuinely sad.

Pretty much "Holo Harold".
Had no idea he directed Groundhog Day, damn, what a cool guy. RIP.

Guess he crossed the streams. That was terrible, I apologize. R.I.P. Harold. We'll miss you, man.
Oh, sweet christendom, no.
Damn, that fucking sucks. I fucking loved the ghostbuster movies growing up. And he was a pretty awesome director sometimes as well. Groundhog day and Caddyshack are just the best shit ever. Between Bill Murray ignoring all the offers to reprise his roll and now this, it's pretty clear Ghostbusters 3 really wasn't mean to to be. Which in all honesty is probably a good thing.
It's better for a good thing to end early, then to have another "Scrubs season 9". Scrubs is a perfect 10/10 show and I won't even dare touch season 9 because of how scary bad the reviews are. I believe firmly in the expansion of many shows but lets say, Merlin, it's better that show ended with 5 seasons and stayed amazing, than have a bunch of shitty seasons and end with a shitty ending. It's depressing to think that a lot of notable or cherished actors will die within our lifetimes Not even ones like Arnold Schwarzenegger are safe.

Take this as an example so you do not misuse the word anymore. Anyway, Ghostbuster is a great comedy with a really fun concept, and its actors were fantastic. It's so sad to see that most of the actors we love from our "old" classic movies are going to die in our lifetimes, one by one. There's always going to be the new set of great actors, but I don't know. It's like when James Rolfe talk about all these actors in the 1940's and such. We can't really relate to them, and talking about their work as post-mortem just sends a strange vibe.
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo *inhale* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Later Days, Mr. Ramis.

Groundhog Day is really one of the best movies I've seen ever. It's really good.
I really hope they don't bust him. He needs his rest now.
Why the fuck does someone who is well loved by many and adored by fans have to die consistently around my birthday every year :(
There are few people out there with direct taps into my brain and who were major elements in my development as a person, and he was one of them. God fucking damn it, man.
