damn skylines taking all our jobs and money
So that very small percentage of foreign cars on the road are such a threat that they need to be removed by feds? That is the most preposterous thing I have ever heard in motoring history.
Immigration and Customs, because Cuban bananas are evil. Skylines too.
I'd bet the average tahoe or yukon emits more than any skyline would anyway
Why the fuck are they aiming at Skylines? Why not Lambos or Ferraris or some foreign supercar brand
Since Nissan never legally sold the Skyline in the United States, those that are in the country had to pass a maze of federal standards for emissions and safety, including crash tests. Thanks to the failure of an importer who didn't perform the proper test, only a small run of Skylines from 1996 to 1998 can be legally brought to the United States, and many that were originally OK'd for import later had their papers pulled.
See?
Still over 9000x safer than a Smartcar.
Smart Cars do really good on safety tests considering their size.
Just get back into your hybrid Chevy Civic and leave, please...
Minus the fact that you get catapulted 15ft when tboned.
From wikipedia
Smart vehicles use a very small front crumple zone. The new Smart Fortwo has been awarded 4 out of 5 stars in the Euro NCAP Adult Occupant Protection, 2 out of 4 stars in the Pedestrian protection test but it was not tested for Child Occupant Protection as it has no rear seats. The original Smart was awarded 3 out of 5 stars for Adult Occupant Protection. In American tests using a five star rating, Smart cars received a four star safety rating for the driver from a front impact, and a five star safety rating for the driver for a side impact. It also received "Good" ratings (top rating) for front and side crash protection in Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tests. However, in an April 2009 40 mph frontal offset crash test between a Fortwo and a Mercedes C class, the IIHS rated the Smart Fortwo "Poor," noting that "Multiple injuries, including to the head, would be likely for a real-world driver of a Smart in a similar collision." However, the fortwo's crash had been replicated by the Euro NCAP against an S-Class with just the opposite results. The main structure of the car is a stiff structure called a Tridion Safety Cell, which is designed to activate the crumple zones of a colliding vehicle. This design creates a very strong safety cell around the passengers.
