I wouldn't be surprised if some people genuinely did get sucked in by North Korean propaganda. I mean, we've got people here taking the word of RT seriously and treating them as the sole legitimate news source, and we used to have a bloke that spat out nothing but Fox News articles.

There actually were a few soldiers who bought into the Korean ideology and defected during and after the Korean War, I think the most prominent one of them was named Dresnok several of the other defectors later claimed they were forced into claiming to support the DPRK, but according to him they were lying to avoid punishment.
And I do agree that's a pretty well designed card.
well, the kfa are basically propaganda droids that are indoctrinated outside of nk
The DPRK certainly does has a rather...exceptionalist attitude towards itself(Such petty nationalism is a corner-stone of Juche ideology).
However the DPRK far from the only country with such a flaw.
For-example numerous American presidents have called their nation the "greatest" and figures such as Washington or Lincoln are most certainly met with similar levels of "hero worship" to that of Kim Il-sung.

If i had to funds to travel to Jakarta(the closest DPRK embassy to me), then i would already be on a flight there.
Given my past exchanges with representatives of the DPRK's government, i don't believe i would have any major difficulty's in applying for political asylum.

You're bloody Australian why would you want to live in a shithole of a country when you live in a first world country? I don't understand.

While i have many reasons, the most important one is to escape the influence of America.
Australia(like almost every other industrialized country) has become increasing "Americanized" in both culture and political discourse.
As i have no desire to live in a vessel-state that celebrates ignorance, selfishness, competitiveness and greed - there is really not all that much to be gained from continuing to suffer here.
The DPRK is the last (industrialized) nation that is truly free from the horrors that America has unleashed upon the world.
Honestly the DPRK could be an acid-spewing hell-scape and i would still find it preferable to living within the American sphere of influence.

are you sure it'd be more preferable than living within the American sphere of influence?

Horrors? Oh poor baby if you want experience horror try living in North Korea with a dictatorship, famine , torture and censorship, that's horror. Australians and Western countries have a lot easier than NK. America isn't that bloody awful, I'm not the defender of Americans but they have done a lot for us (obvious one is save our arses in WW2). I'd rather live in a Americanized society than that shithole of a country.
