they are not latin
Latino means they are from latin america, latin america = central america, I.E. mexico, panama, etc.
first off, "spic" is a racist term for Puerto Ricans. not Mexicans. if you're going to be racist, at least use the right slur, please.
secondly, that's still a fucking racist thing to say.
IRT thread: Politically Correct is stupid. IIRC, Cinco De Mayo isn't even a real mexican holiday. I'm pretty sure the day of Mexican Independence was a completely different day. lemme go check...
... yep, Cinco De Mayo was just the day that some battle during their war for independence was won. the true day of independence was September 27, 1821 (though Mexico had declared independence over ten years earlier on September 16, 1810 (called "el Grito de Dolores")). the only region in Mexico that celebrates Cinco De Mayo is the area said battle was won. and the US celebrates it because of it's catchy name and because it likes to have an excuse to drink.
Racism = saying naughty words :downs:
He never said he believes whites are better than hispanics
:wtc:
Thats like saying you can't wear a Spanish flag on the Fourth of July, or my teacher telling me to change out of my skinny jeans because she doesn't skateboard.
edit: Alright the jeans analogy was really bad but I couldn't think of anything better :(

So saying "nigger" when talking about black people = not racist?
Racism = saying naughty words :downs:

but saying a racial slur is still racist. hence the term racial slur.
EDIT: eh, Prismatex said it better than I did.
I bet none of the Mexican students even know what the holiday is.
Only one part of Mexico even celebrates it. I'm pretty sure it's Pueblo.
It seems like most of the hispanic population doesn't give a shit about being an American.

But they live in America?
Why would it piss off Mexicans? They beat Franch in the Battle Of Puebla, not America...
I bet none of the Mexican students even know what the holiday is.
it's not even a holiday in mexico
I found this funny, my girlfriend's mum is full blown Mexican. Born and raised there until she had turned 18 and migrated to the US, and she told me today that she never even knew of a Cinco De Mayo in her entire life of growing up in Mexico, only until she came to the US.
The school rules are turning bullshit everyday
"If you're white, and you disagree with Obama, you're a racist."
Someone actually said that! :byodood:
EDIT: Just so you know, it was just a political cartoon. :v:
I wonder what would happen if I wore a hammer and sickle to school?
Many kids already do this at my school.
I want to tell them how stupid they are, but I say nothing.

Another problem with illegal immigrants is that they refuse to assimilate. They still wish they could be living in Mexico, yet they come here anyway.

instead of a Melting Pot we've got a Salad Bowl.

Source? I'm a descendant of illegals, but I'm pretty damn assimilated if I do say so myself.
Quick note: Suck it up Mexicans.
The faculty are responsible for this, not Mexicans.
On a side note, this is like an hour's drive from where I live.

See, you guys are being dense. THIS is what the school administrators were trying to stop from happening when they asked the kids to not wear the flags. They don't care about political correctness, they just don't want a shitstorm in their school
You guys and political correctness are like the Daily Mail and immigrants
Or Glen Beck and communists
If I was Mexican I would be offended by the t-shirts too. Not because of the shirts themselves, but because of the apparent motives behind them. I highly doubt that the students were wearing the shirts to show only their patriotism. What's more likely is that they were wearing them to instigate something, but there is no way to know for sure. I also think that the school should have handled the situation differently.
The army had all non-Mexican soldiers wear nondescript white bodysuits on account of our uniforms featuring the American flag. Mexican soldiers, and soldiers who claimed to be really good friends with a Mexican, were allowed to wear ponchos and party hats.
this just goes too far

In battle?

I highly doubt that was the case, and even if it were what's the big deal? The KKK has the right to march through a Jewish neighborhood (And actually has before) and promote their beliefs. I don't think the American flag being displayed on a Mexican holiday is not even remotely distasteful. If you do find it distasteful there is something seriously wrong with your inner-workings.

Really? Fucking really?
Attn butthurt Mexicans, if you don't like it here leave.
These people give the Mexicans and other Hispanics that come here to work and have a better life a bad name.

Another quality racism ban by TH89
Another quality racism ban by TH89.
I honestly don't see how that was racist. He was addressing the group of people butthurt by this who seem to be Hispanic. TH89 you need to redefine what you consider racist. Now if he addressed them with a racial slur or incited racism, then yes, that would be racist. Sure that post is skimming the line, it still doesn't seem racist.
Watch, someone will wear Mexican colours on the Fourth of July and they will get suspended for being "offensive". :downs:

Yeah, I was being sarcastic, i've seen TH89 pull so many bullshit bans out of his ass for racism, that's why I said it. And it wasn't anywhere NEAR skimming the line on racism, he said that the ones who constantly whine about everything are giving the honest, hard working immigrants a bad name.
So it's bad to wear a shirt with an American flag on it in America.
