You say that as if it's normal to carry around packets of salt on you.
Well, at least that would be more normal than carrying sand, I guess.

it's a tunnel to another dimension in which the snail stores it's deadly tentacle weapon and the flesh of all it's helpless victims.

Pink fucking slugs, now I've seen it all.
It looks fabulous.
Researchers reported the find was, "Noice."
I'm not trying to get all racist here but that looks a lot like a banana slug if it were red
We have to kill it before it kills us.
this is pretty neat. i mean, they look scary, but it's all good.
Am I colorblind or is that slug in the pic just plain ol' red?

You see the fly?
It appears to be sorta the same size as a normal house-fly at 1-1 scale.
Well, I don't have a fucking clue what that shit is, but if it is on the same size as a normal fly, it's almost at 1-1 scale by the photo.
If it is, then the photo kinda gives a 1-1 scale of the slug as well.
It looks like a living lava lamp.
I want to pick it up and lay it on someone's face
8 inches is pretty big for a lot of things.
There it is! The dick joke. I'm actually really proud we got about half-way down the front page before it. (Seriously :v:)
How do we know it's 17 milion years old tho? Article just said that they'd prolly be dead if a volcano hadn't erupted 17 milion years ago.

They probably cut off a leg and counted the rings.

It's an aussie fly though. So it's probably large enough to carry a truck away to it's nest of horror.
That photo is actually of the slug wrapped around the mountain! You can see the treetops there...
Lets just crack open all the mountains in Australia and see what lives inside.
Maybe there are more rainbow slugs, I want an entire set
just wait until a couple of sydney eshays brutally stomp them and spray paint them with their gang symbol
for the record this is what I envision

"Kiss my ass, pinkie!"
first hats, now slugs
Oh great another creature in Australia that will Kill us.
Fuckin' huge slugs, and bright red to boot; must be in an environment where there's no natural predators 'cause anywhere else they'd be snapped up like mad. Let's hope they get the studying they need.
Oh yeah I've seen these before.

I can't see the fly. Can someone point that out for me?
Looks like a pokemon
