Good move Obama.
now give me back my house
So you would rather endanger the citizens of another country with OUR prisoners instead of having us deal with our own shit? As if they're some kind of actual threat to us? [editline]07:47PM[/editline] Honestly, they aren't invincible giant metal men made of nuclear bombs I don't see how they are different from any other convict in some high-security prison.
Did you quote the wrong person there buddy? I want them to be tried and acquitted/convicted. Not shipped off to another country.
And...what about those terrorists in Guantanimo? Where will they go?
And...what about those terrorists in Guantanimo? Where will they go?
Did you read any of the thread or even the title of the thread?
Fucking hell, I don't want terror suspects in any state.
what better way to keep them in sight than our very own backyard? oh wait, i forgot that supermax prison is just like the movie ones. Fatass 7/11 security guards, plastic doors, no any weaponry, no failsafes, recruiting other inmates while the security guards dont give a fuck, and etc. It is totally not like reality where not a single inmate have ever escaped from a supermax prison, the fact that he cannot talk to anyone but himself seeing he's in his room 24/7, heavily armed security guards, guard dogs, high res cameras, electric fences, steel doors, and etc.
Won't somebody please think of the children!!!
The prison has already been built for a while. They're not building anything new. They're going to put them in a jail that is in Thompson which has been inactive on account of a larger jail in the next county over. The inmates will be put into one of the empty wings which will be guarded by MPs. Though of course I can understand the how people would get a hard-on for the Gitmo Gulag.
Weren't they going to be trialled in a New York court? I guess it would be a bit inconvienient to fly them from cuba over most of the east coast.
Nobody wants these Gitmo detainees...even Iran won't take them.
Hey, while we're at it maybe we could get them a trial, too? [editline]03:02AM[/editline]
Nobody wants these Gitmo detainees...even Iran won't take them.
I'd take them. I'd have no problem with US prisoners being held on US soil in my US state of US Michigan. Well not my property, personally, but you know, I wouldn't mind them being detained in my state.
Nobody wants these Gitmo detainees...even Iran won't take them.
Well tough titties.
it's gonna be awesome, I want to move in
Did you quote the wrong person there buddy? I want them to be tried and acquitted/convicted. Not shipped off to another country.
Well it sounds like you don't want them in the country so yeah. Even if that's true it's not like Gitmo is a shining example of human rights.
Fine by me, I don't really give a shit where in the country you put them, so long as it's not some secret overseas prison we indefinitely shelve and torture people.
They should have put it in some gun-toting, bible-belt state. Then it's like the prisoners are being kept in for their own protection from the people. Where do the rest of the "not-limited" prisoners go?
Well it sounds like you don't want them in the country so yeah. Even if that's true it's not like Gitmo is a shining example of human rights.
I either want them out of the country, free, or in the country, convicted/pending trial.
Same shit different place.
The Supreme Court declared it wrong to pen up suspected terrorists in Guantanamo without giving them a trial. So no, it is not true that because you are not in the country but still on our soil you can blatantly evade the rights we give to our citizens.
They're not our citizens though. Also "The Supreme Court declared it wrong to pen up suspected terrorists in Guantanamo without giving them a trial." Was the bold part a major point of what they said? If so, it's being evaded pretty easily by moving them to Illinois.

More jobs for Michigan... right? D:

And just because they aren't an American citizen doesn't mean that they don't have rights. "All men are created equal" I wonder where I heard that from, also, we are setting a terrible example for other countries and being hypocritical to the extreme.

Don't forget, just because they're in your state doesn't mean they'll be wandering around. They are going to be in prison.
