the reason he's losing his job is definitely becaue it went viral though, as soon as something gets big like this people will expect this sort of reaction

The only guy I know at work that thinks this is funny is a complete moron. We had some women from another company in the office one day and he heard the local news was filming some report down the street, so he indiscreetly proclaims right in front of the women "I wanna run down there and yell FUCK HER RIGHT IN THE PUSSY hurr hurr durr"

In short, the guy in the article deserved it for being a complete fucking meathead.
