It's literally the same thing. You wouldn't tell an alcoholic, or a heavy smoker, that he's doing just fine, no matter how much he'd insist that he feels great, wouldn't you? I see it the exact same way. It's a poisonous lifestyle and I don't agree with enabling their behavior. Same thing applies here. I personally can't see a heavy smoker, or an alcoholic, or a morbidly obese person, and tell him that he's doing just fine, with a straight face, I'd be lying if I did and I don't like that.
Totally agree. Unhealthy lifestyles shouldn't be encouraged, but we also shouldn't shame those people somewhere in the middle. An occasional beer or soda is fine, it's not necessarily unhealthy. [editline]21st August 2015[/editline]
[t]http://snappa.static.pressassociation.io/assets/2015/04/23075026/1429771822-9e1d87a76285f151d9c2e1db9455325b-1366x1950.jpg[/t] I think this is a little more than "plus-size". Fat-shaming isn't okay in any way, but being 280 lbs at 5'5 isn't a lifestyle that should be encouraged or embraced. She's probably going to die within the next decade.
Jesus those arms. I'm surprised by the models in the slideshow in the OP's source. Those women are supposedly "plus sized," but look like fairly regular, healthy women, nothing like Holliday.

Being obese does increase the chance of heart attack and that sort of thing, but it doesn't make you die in such a short expanse of time, especially at age 30. She likely still has a decade or two before the risk increases so significantly.
I think losing weight is easier than people let on but come on
Losing weight is not easy at all, that's why people don't do it :v: [editline]22nd August 2015[/editline] Well actually I supposed it depends. The formula to losing weight is easy. The execution is anything but.
That's the same way I talked to a few friends and acquaintances on the matter, and they all said I'm a chauvinistic cocksucker. Eh... I chose to leave them be. No point in arguing with them any further.
If you say something moderate and they act like it's something crazy and offensive, they're extremists.
So, can we all agree that they pretty much achieved their goal?
How the fuck people can even be proud of being fatties? It's basically being proud of destroying your health by gaining fat and not doing sports. What's next? Being proud of having aids?
Losing weight is not easy at all, that's why people don't do it :v: [editline]22nd August 2015[/editline] Well actually I supposed it depends. For me, I once was able to lose 80 pounds, but throw in some depression and regression of bad habits resulting from said depression and I'm right back where I was. I sympathize with anyone who makes an earnest attempt to lose weight. It's hard as shit, especially when the motivation isn't there, to start being healthy and the urge to indulge is always there, just in varying intensity.
Being that fat is very unhealthy.
Well actually I supposed it depends. The formula to losing weight is easy. The execution is anything but.
Depends on your genetics, will and economic situation. However most people don't have genetic disorders or genes that just make them fat.
How the fuck people can even be proud of being fatties? It's basically being proud of destroying your health by gaining fat and not doing sports. What's next? Being proud of having aids?
Bugchasing involves people that want to "give the gift".

I don't do shit but sit on my ass all day and weigh 130lbs, meanwhile my friend who works out regularly and sometimes goes without eating for a whole day is 230lbs.
fuck is Ashley graham hot But the woman in op is not Anyone can be beautiful at certain sizes. Just not her
[t]http://snappa.static.pressassociation.io/assets/2015/04/23075026/1429771822-9e1d87a76285f151d9c2e1db9455325b-1366x1950.jpg[/t] I think this is a little more than "plus-size". Weight is more down to diet than exercise.
i don't get what's so funny or smart about going out of your way to make sure fat people feel ashamed of themselves
Honestly this is a lose lose situation right here. 4chan get's targeted by the media as a bunch of asshole trolls that hate on everything, and Folks defend their being obese because guess what, simply insulting people makes them put their walls up, and once those walls come up they do not come back down.
Trust me I've tried gaining weight, I'd eat fried rice with double orange every day at work from panda express for 3 months and then finish it off with a 400 calorie protein bar. highest I could get my weight was 135. I hang out with my friend a lot and he only eats salads most of the time. He's probably never gonna be able to lose any weight.
"#effyourbeautystandards" It's not beauty standards, it's called being healthy, you fucking whale.
Fat shaming doesn't work. Here's a scientific study about it so you all can stop this nonsense. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/oby.20891/pdf

[editline]22nd August 2015[/editline] "Sorry to burst your bubble folks, but this won't get off the ground. kthxbye"
Fat shaming doesn't work. Here's a scientific study about it so you all can stop this nonsense.
I don''t think society seeing fat as being healthy and beautiful will lead to a healthy population.
Why don't you try posting that on /b/ and telling them that whatever they're doing won't work? [editline]22nd August 2015[/editline] "Sorry to burst your bubble folks, but this won't get off the ground. kthxbye"
Did you read the quote? The guy was fat shaming
For all that 4chan love to complain about Tumblr missing the point of stuff, the fact that this was a response to 'hurr durr landwhales making our game characters fat!!!' when the whole thing was basically a shitty response to a charity making some photoshops of video game characters to say 'hey look, you caan be 'big' and cool too!'
Rebel Wilson needs to listen though, she's dangerously overweight and shouldn't be using that as a source of comedy.
Nah it's just being an edgelord I think losing weight is easier than people let on but come on
It's all in your habits. If you don't change your habits over time then you will most likely fail. People immediately jump into some weird diet or exercise routine, do it for a week and then get tired. When the better way to go about it is to just initially even bother showing up to the gym consistently and then you can work on improving yourself much better. Because you got the habit of going to the gym down. I managed to get my habits fixed and now it feels weird if I don't go to the gym, instead of the other way around.
It's amazing how her face is somehow immune to fat Most women at her level would have a couple of extra chins at that point.
It looks ridiculous, her head is TINY compared to the rest of her body. :v:

I managed to get my habits fixed and now it feels weird if I don't go to the gym, instead of the other way around.
I think a major problem is that english doesn't have separate words for "diet" and "dieting". in the sense where your "diet" is the overall composition of the sort of food you habitually eat and their nutritional value and "dieting" is what fat women do for three weeks, lose a couple of kg and then quit because it's unsustainable. The result being that even though they "diet" for a bit, their actual diet doesn't become any better. hope that makes sense
#effyourbeautystandards is pretty much the central problem of all this. How the hell can you oppose a cultural standard and then get mad at people for not agreeing with you? It's the fucking standard, you see, it's the most common denominator of opinions on body shape. Now regardless of what you think of beauty standards, personally... what the fuck kind of way of getting people to agree with you is this, it just blows my mind. Shoving the opposite of what people like in their faces and demanding they change their opinion, HOW DOES THAT FUCKING WORK? I guess the best way to convince someone of a thing they are prone to decline is to yell out your opinion really loud, into their faces and they SURELY MUST SEE THEY WERE WRONG AND YOU WERE RIGHT
You know what really makes people want to lose weight? Calling them fat pieces of shit and harassing them. Just another case of arseholes on the internet not knowing how to act.
I'd say enabling. I could never tell a smoker or an alcoholic that what he does is okay, and that he's fine... with a straight face. Same thing applies here, IMO. I just don't think it's right to encourage that lifestyle.
No and that's fine, but you don't go to alcoholics and smokers and drug addicts going "lol just stop doing it haha you are so ugly hahahahaha," you approach them with sympathy and help them come to terms with their problems, that's what body acceptance is about, it's not encouragement.
my take on this (most of it's probably been said before but just adding my 2c): the whole thing's just a way for insecure teenage boys to feel better about themselves by stepping on people who can't retaliate. it's called 'project harpoon' for god's sake, the clue is in the title. you're kidding yourself if you think these 4channers are doing this to 'encourage people' or 'promote healthy eating habits'. if people want to change their bodies, the motivation to do that has to come from within. a bunch of dorks on the internet making whale jokes is not going to help anybody.
You know what really makes people want to lose weight? Calling them fat pieces of shit and harassing them. Just another case of arseholes on the internet not knowing how to act.
I'm sure these jerks can't really think that's what they're doing. They can't possibly think they're actually helping anyone. They just say it because that's how they come to terms with their own assholishness.
Wait, there's a facebook page for Project Harpoon now?
I'm sure these jerks can't really think that's what they're doing. They can't possibly think they're actually helping anyone. Like SJW/gamergate vax/anti-vax fat-shame/fat-no-shame. Surely there are better things to be spending your time arguing about.
