Bitcoin is so 2013: Dogecoin is the new cryptocurrency on the block

I feel ashamed to say that I'm mining this stuff right now, I'm curious to see how far this joke goes and if I can get anything out of it before it goes to shit.
Ik its name is a meme but the name is actually clever. The Doge being the leader of the rpublic of Venice which was the richest country in Europe for awhile. As welling as obtaining a merchant empire around the world.
I think DogeCoins are the new internet thing, they're probably going to be around for a long time now.
Why not mine some now than regret it later?
This is fucking ridiculous.
I love when people hate a meme that they used to like just because it's now popular while the rest of us that never gave a shit, still don't give a shit.
Hipsters hating hipsters, nothing new here.
I love when people hate a meme that they used to like just because it's now popular while the rest of us that never gave a shit, still don't give a shit.
It's because memes, as many things, are funny in moderation. Seeing a well done doge picture once a week was funny. But seeing that faggot dogs face several times a day with shitty uninspired unfunny text is just getting on ones nerves.
My friend had around 200k DOGEs, he sold them for 0.1BTC (Around 100 Euros)
Oh god my room is so hot from mining, 67k DOGE a day though.
Well, I'm going to mine a few thousand, just to be safe. If it ever should "go to the moon". (Which I doubt)
watch all the people who missed out on bitcoin buy millions of these and ruin their lives
[editline]16th December 2013[/editline]
though if this also turns people into millionaires i'll consider killing myself
Well, they are really cheap. Some people are buying 1 million of these for 175$.
great, another currency trying to cash in on the success of SUPER MONEY
Well, they are really cheap. Some people are buying 1 million of these for 175$.
What? $175? I bought 2 million for a joke weeks ago for like $20.
Haha

doge coin is far off from being the best alternate crypto currency. this news isn't news its advertising
I've always hated internet memes, but for some reason I find a strange allure and fascination in Doge.
Call me just an old fashioned romantic, but that face really speaks to me on a personal level, it feels like there was a Doge shaped hole in my heart that is now filled and everytime I see that face it fills me with confidence I never had before and makes me think life is really ALL RIGHT.
Just my two cents.

I think it may be something to do with it being a cute dog.
I have a feeling people are going to spam create new variations of bitcoin just in case one of them gets their price inflated by hordes of greasy neckbeards who want to make a quick buck.
People have been doing it already and it's not just a few variations. Check for yourself:

There are so many cryptocurrencies being traded now. I wonder when the bulk of them will die off leaving just a few popular ones left.

There will always be a steady stream.
mining multiple cryptos is the best thing to do right now as they all fluctuate like mad, a few weeks ago, for a few days, you could make over 100 dollars a day with an average-decent gpu
just exchange for BTC when YOU believe a crypto it at its peak
Saw this on 4chan and early mined more than 1 million doges. Not going to sell them for just $300 even though I did this in roughly 3 days. Gonna wait until I can do DOGE -> BTC -> EURO and buy me a nice laptop. If it doesn't happen then it doesn't happen, I lost ~3€ in electricity those days and nothing else.
On the other hand that million could get incredibly valuable due to speculation retards and meme retards (or the combinatioon of both), so I may wait a little more and just sell 50% of it as soon as I can get my goal (the new laptop).
From what I understand about this cryptocurrency thing. You play a game to make more of them and you get some of them but you have to link your bank account and download a software to do this and only a very small limited amount of places take them and it's a bitch to find an exchange for real money and that money is put into your bank account?

Its easy as hell to exhange all these alt-coins to BTC, and BTC is only getting easier to exchange for a "real" currency.
There are already BTC ATMs in Vancouver, and my brother in law is planning on setting one up in his store here. He already accepts BTC for purchases.

The "real" part makes me think it's not real currency and can't be put into an account.

the quotations are there because im only using the word "real" to humour the people that think BTC is not a real currency.
when I said "real" currency im of course referring to centralized currencies like USD
