I would not have survived the school systems that they have in Asia. My family housed a foreign exchange student from Korea for awhile. In Seoul he was in school all day, came home for dinner, then went to a different school before coming home to do homework.
Eh, If I got an assignment and dont finish it, 0 fucks given. Even being under a lot of pressure (Private School in Argentina, you're kinda fucked up with assignments) Why? Because I know that I will, 100% pass by the end of year, whether a C+ or an A, im passing. 0. Fucks. Given. Unfortunately, cant say the same of those poor guys. Jesus, what kind of situation makes you kill yourself for not finishing homework?!?
Just to give some perspective, 1st graders (no, not high school, elementary school) have school from 8:00 - 16:00. They get home and work with homework which can last up till 20:00 which is also when they are going to bed.
Lol. That's exactly the same time I've got to stay in school. In Fact, its all the same for elementary school and high school. And moreover, for like all my elementary school and the first year of high school, I had to go up till 5 PM!! 3 years ago they reduced the time by half an hour. So right now I've get to go by 4.30 PM.
in asian culture, it's seriously your fucking worth
Wot? In Argentina it's the same. Ain't got a degree? Well, good luck starving on the streets. And mind you, it's not that easy to get a degree here...
It was the straw that broke the camels back, they didn't take their lives just because of their homework.
so true, being perfect in their classes was probably their only drive left, as they could see it was the only path, and when that path closed, they ended it, sometimes in the push on education for a better future, we forget about the amount of stress that creates for young students
