these people hate actual solutions because it takes away their perceived right to bitch. if they actually cared about the issues they would've been agreeing with sanders, god i hate white people
Can I say "god I really hate black people" without getting banned an lynched?
its funny how stupidly "Anti racist" these people are that they actively go out of their way to target people who are against racism your view of the world is fucking erratic and psychotic
The Social Justice Warrior is now a part of mainstream politics. I fear for the future.
The Social Justice Warrior is now a part of mainstream politics. I fear for the future.
what GoP is to conservatives, is what SJW's are to Liberals. At least GoP tries to pretend to not be stupid. I'll give them THAT much.
him marching in the civil rights movement is largely irrelevant compared to his actual statements and position on the matter, which many people seem to be actively ignoring. i do believe that racism is still alive in our country and the world at large, but i also believe that racism is an issue of class as well and always has been. to ignore one side in favor of the other in either case is a mistake and won't fix the issues. bernie has approached the issue from both the racism angle and the class angle. i think the reason people take issue to people raising concerns that they haven't done enough to alleviate structural racism is because he has clearly explained how he would approach and attempt to solve the issue, which is from the angle of fixing broken police systems while giving black youth the same opportunities as other youth, investing in them in a way that we've never done because lets face it, many primarily black communities are seen as second class communities from a governmental standpoint and there isn't investment in the communities because of a "what's the point" standpoint. honestly, i will admit i am of the opinion that the poor state of primarily black communities is mostly a class issue compounded by racism. if you made every policeman in the world the perfect cop, the communities wouldn't get much better because there is still a lack of investment by the state. not enough jobs would still lead to high levels of youth crime as they have no other options. incredibly poor schools leads to education being worthless once they graduate, which leads to high dropout rates as it is a pointless waste of time, time that is better spent on survival. i feel that while it is still important for us to fix the messed up police system, if you just fix the previous two mentioned issues you would see far more progress towards equality than if you just fixed the police issue. as i said, though, it needs to be approached from both sides (which is exactly what bernie was saying)

Anyway, I guess it was only a matter of time before the Anti-Tea Party emerged on the other end of the spectrum, just as loud and illogical as it's right-wing counterpart.
honestly, i will admit i am of the opinion that the poor state of primarily black communities is mostly a class issue compounded by racism.
Mostly a class issue. Rich blacks have it better off than poor asians and whites, etc.
what GoP is to conservatives, is what SJW's are to Liberals. At least GoP tries to pretend to not be stupid. I couldn't tell, they're both far too stupid to listen to. [editline]21st July 2015[/editline]
Mostly a class issue.
the worst part is that I don't know who is worse. But what I do want to see, is both of them in a large argument
impossible when one side would immediately block the other
impossible when one side would immediately block the other
both would become so hot headed that the room would ignite in flame and they die a tea party activist and a social justice warrior wall off a cliff, who wins? [sp]Nobody, everyone went deaf 2 hours ago from their bickering anyways[/sp]
This whole thing just makes me fucking nauseous. I wish the extremists would go away.

-nevermind-
Okay, fine, I absolutely agree that black lives matter too and they do often get shafted by society either consciously or subconsciously and racism is a real problem in this country. I have a lot of suggestions and ideas about all of that, but here comes the kicker and here is why nothing ever changes: I'm white. No matter what I say or do, I will always be white. My opinion or suggestions about this, no matter how helpful, are automatically invalid because I am white. You can say what you want but every single time this shit comes up it eventually boils down to the same tired shit; I don't know what it's like to be black therefore my opinion really isn't needed or wanted. So I say to all the dark-skinned people who constantly rebuff me because I'm just some honky fuck pushing my white ideas, what the fuck are the blacks doing to help the problem? Really? What are black people doing? All I see is a bunch of looting, rioting, and complaining, and a clannish us-vs-them mentality at every fucking turn (see above, great example of that) and every time I ask this I'm automatically racist. If I were black and asking these questions I'd be some Uncle Tom, if I were any other minority I'd be some sycophant who's just supporting white oppression. Really, if we can't even ask simple questions like, "what is the black community doing to help solve this massive problem?" then we will never get anywhere. When it's only about black lives, and really that's all they care about, then nothing will ever get solved because it reinforces an us-vs-them mentality in people who didn't even have it to begin with. It's like saying "WELL TEACH MEN NOT TO RAPE!!! >:(" when men don't need to be taught not to rape, we already find it abhorrent and I'm pretty sure that if somebody raped my little sisters I'd string that son of a bitch up and cut his fucking balls off in a fit of rage. I don't need to be taught to be "not racist" either, in fact I'm one of the few people who will judge people individually and more often than not I will find something nice to say about you. I absolutely hate Somalians, but I treat them no differently than I do anyone else in spite of my prejudices against everything Somalian because that's what a fucking respectable human being should do. Period. I don't look at your race, religion, sexual orientation, or anything else that you can't help, I look at who you are as a person. You can say that every movement has it's fair share of idiots but honestly these "anti-racist" SJWs are not hard to find, they're a dime a dozen and the vast majority of them are about as intellectually sophisticated as a bag of hammers. They're as loyal to the cause of social equality as my dogs are and neither of them truly understand it, and I think they have an equal chance of figuring it out. See, the real difference is my dogs don't cause people to immediately go on the defensive and more entrenched in their views, especially if they ran contrary to the bleating crowd. This is why the whole "social justice movement" is not only ineffective, it's actually counter-productive because it encourages unproductive defensive behavior in people and it furthers that divide in our society. So let's get back to the original point. There's a lot of racial problems in this country, and yeah, you can trace the lion's share back to slavery. There's millions of rational, calm people in this country who are looking at this shaking their heads and largely don't want to get involved. I'm pretty sure there's plenty of black people out there who feel completely embarrassed by the shit that happens, and I sometimes wonder if they feel like they've got a target painted on their back all over again. Honestly after Furgeson I was acutely aware of everyone's race all over again because of the response and that was really, really unsettling. I don't like being forced to recognize differences, I prefer seeing similarities or links between things, causes, effects, I like exploring that rather than feeling closed in and boxed up. That's all I feel with this. I feel more isolated and ostracized by the #BlackLivesMatter shit than anything else. Tell me, how does making me feel like I have nothing in common with people who aren't my skin color (or anyone, really, this whole thing is depressing) solve anything?
So now your dad is saying "What are you doing to get your fair share?" despite giving everyone else their fair share of food already. By asking "what is the black community doing to fix this," you're not expressing support, you're saying it's their problem and they should fix it. Not to mention how asinine and stupid the term "black community" is - it's a term that is almost always used to tie any black person to inner-city crime. Doesn't happen with "white community" and inbred redneck methheads, but it does with "black community." I also don't know where you're getting this idea that black people dismiss any white peoples' opinions. I've discussed this shit with black friends hundreds of times and none of them have ever said "but you're white you don't know what you're talking about," even when I say something that they'd completely disagree with. You're focusing on the lowest common denominator of protester. You're looking at the guy smoking weed and saying "fight the system bro!" at Occupy Wall Street and saying "well that's all this is, this shit is fucking stupid." It's intellectually dishonest to say that "all you see" is fighting and rioting and cult behavior - of course it is. That's all you're spending time to look up. That's all you see because that's all the news really reports. Read some articles, find some interesting statistics, research the history behind this, and most importantly actually experience systemic racism and you'll be more likely to understand. I'm white and my parents are moderately wealthy, but I can look beyond that because I've seen systemic racism (especially from local police) affect my black friends disproportionately more than my white friends. I'm also going to point out that ignoring race is one of the dumbest things you can possibly do. Sure, it's a nice idea, everyone's great, you judge everyone by their personality and not their skin color - good for you. Most people don't. Ignoring race completely is ignorant - you just end up marginalizing the struggles that other people impose on those of other races because "oh i'm color blind" and you absolve yourself of the very existence of racism. All I'm seeing here is that you actually do have nothing in common with people of other skin colors. You admit to hating Somalians as if that's an acceptable or reasonable opinion to have. You admit that you view protesters as intellectually inferior. You admit that all you see is "clannish" behavior. Come on, man, are you really not seeing how and why people might be offended and dismiss your opinion? In a single post, you've essentially dismissed an entire movement by the lowest common denominator, expressed and admitted your own racism, and then claimed that you only judge people by their personalities despite making sweeping judgments of an entire movement. Come off it.
I snipped my post because I didn't want to argue with you because it's fucking pointless, yet you reply anyway. Just letting you know I'm not participating. [editline]21st July 2015[/editline] PS: "Somalian" isn't a race.

[editline]21st July 2015[/editline] PS: "Somalian" isn't a race.
I replied before you snipped. Not gonna snip mine, though. It's also not pointless - I regularly change my opinion if people bring up good points. Which I've seen almost none of from people opposing a racial equality movement. PS: Jews aren't a race either, but hating them because of their ethnicity is still fucking awful and shameful behavior. The fact that you think it's somehow acceptable to hate an ethnicity and that it isn't racist (or antisemitic or any other term you want to use) just shows me why you think a movement centered around ethnic and racial equality is "clannish" and "as intellectually sophisticated as a bag of hammers."

[editline]21st July 2015[/editline] PS: "Somalian" isn't a race.
Welcoming to the shitshow that is racial inequality. We have to recognize differences because people are getting killed over them. [editline]21st July 2015[/editline] Do you think black people conspired to make this shit up? Like, seriously, even if all black people did was riot and complain, why the fuck do you think that is? Is it maybe because they're sick of being persecuted and put down and failed by the system so out of frustration and lack of any real agency they lash out with violence? The answer may surprise you.
All these people are anti-Semites. They aren't Jews and so they can't comment on Bernie's experience with race and they're punching down on Jews by attacking him. Jews are the most persecuted race of all. Bernie can't be racist because he's a Jew, and you're part of the problem of anti-Semitism for contributing to this attack. This is pretty easy lol.
So he should continue the trend of pandering to the stupidity inside of people? Isn't one of the reason people like him because he doesn't do that shit?
Not saying what he should or shouldn't do, just making statement of fact. Being right and unpopular is a nice sentiment but it doesn't win.
#blacklivesmatter to me denote a deep sense of insecurity and lack of self worth. Maybe this needs to be addressed before any thing else?
All these people are anti-Semites.
