Can someone kindly explain to me the current situation ?? who is at fault etc
It comes down to opinion, but essentially Israel raided an aid ship that was acting in violation of an also-illegal trades embargo. But the ship was still in International Waters, as opposed to Israeli waters, when the Israeli Army did the raid, and ten people died as a result of it.

fucking burnemdown at it again. Defend genocide, mah boi
Inb4 people claiming the video is edited to support the IDF's claims.
Though I would have really like it if they would just release the full video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZlSSaPT_OU
Alright, all i saw was a bunch of peeps holding wooden rods and sling shots to defend themselves against rifle-wielding soldiers that are about to illegally raid the ship (that proceed to kill 10 of them).
That video is not helping your argument.
It is, since people here claimed that the activists had panicked and didn't really think everything through.
Now we can see that they planned to attack the commandos, this wasn't an act of instinct or during a rush of adrenaline, they wanted violence, they were no "peace activists".

Yes, a group of people actually wanted a violent confrontation with the IDF, that's why they used such extremely well thought out weapons such as poles and deck chairs. Even if the activists used bazookas, they would still be in the right.
Seriously, the IDF releases their edited and selective videos after seizing all recording equipment and blocking all communication from the passengers, and people eat it right up. They're not even doing a good job at the propaganda.
The worst thing about this is that it will probably alienate Turkey. This is an important issue because Turkey is like a land between two worlds, a country that doesn't exactly belong to either Europe or the muslim world. Supporting it is vital for the purposes of building a bridge between the two cultures, but did we really expect U$A to have such a foresighted vision?
I don't want a bridge between Israel and Palestine, I want Israel and it's shitty regime gone.
News: Seems like one of the killed passengers were an American citizen.
Also, here is a Google-translated page from a Swedish newspaper, where Mattias Gardell, a professor of religious history at Uppsala University, describes what happened on the boats.

Please, read it before you throw away his opinion as "biased".
Just read it, seems pretty conclusive from the methods of attack that the israelis intended to be lethal from the start.
And as soon as the bodies are returned home, autopsies can be performed.

Yes, but does it have pictorial evidence on Wikipedia?

Photographic evidence of said events hosted and approved by the wikimedia foundation or said events did not take place.
Shit going down in the Israeli parliament:

Seems there's internal struggles in Israel at the moment. Now it's actually impossible to predict what is going to happen next.
I've already brought these videos.
Most of these Knesset Members were really pissed about her, but the Knesset speaker (they guy in the high chair with the hammer) ordered them all out of there. Unfortunately there was too much mess and the meeting was adjourned.
Hanin Zuabi is now escorted with guards wherever she goes, and hopefully everything will cool down.
A lot of people honor the Knesset speaker for defending her like that, but a lot of people also accuse him of allowing her to speak.
That could easily be the worst government I've ever seen, so out of curiosity why are they all butt hurt right now when some chick takes the stand?

Are you saying a lot of people are accusing the Knesset speaker for allowing free speech? I know I'm probably making this sound a lot worse than it is, but that's a scary thought to me.

Meh, not the worst government I've seen. Think there was a parliament meeting somehwere in eastern Asia once where the whole debate ended up in a free for all melèe. That video was fun to watch.

You never see this happening in the Senate or House of Representatives :smug:

It's not the government, it's the Knesset (the legislative branch).
Like a Parliament.

They're accusing him, but no one is going to actually persecute him over this.
The accusers are just citizens who are angry with her for being in the flotilla.
It's hilarious how some folks in this thread say Israel is using propaganda and lying and it's impossible for them to tell the truth all while acting like the activist could do no wrong.
You never see this happening in the Senate or House of Representatives :smug:
You lie!
:smug:
You lie!

OK but that was so minor, and it was nothing alike that :smug:

I love it how the Israelians still call it a terrorist flotilla. :)

Silly Israelites.
At least get the term right, it's Israelis. Not Israelites or Israeleans.
Israelians and Israelites.

lol

I don't get how people can mix that up. I've been to Egypt and all the people would refer to them as "Israelians".

you mad, you silly Israelian

For Arabians I can understand, since I think the way you pluralize in Arabic is by adding an "an", So Israeli becomes Israelian. I'm not sure though.
