Here's how it went according to some sources and witnesses IDF fires on boat, people panic and duck, someone ducks. Then, the people who fired onto the ship all of a sudden drop down from HELOs, to prevent further massacre, the people charged and attempted to neutralize the commandos who infiltrated the ship. They wouldn't want to just stand their as they open fire.
So, after they had been fired upon with apparently live rounds, who in their right mind would charge at soldiers with weapons, unless they had a deathwish / agenda?
well whats your opinion?
I'm a pacifist and rather stay neutral, but since I'm living in a conflict-magnet country, I'm supporting this act. How did the media spin it? like this : The soldiers didn't intend to harm anyone but to check the ship which lead to them being brutally attacked by the fellas on it, peace activists eh?. You guys are blindly supporting a 3rd world country such as Iraq\Iran and etc, that's stupid.
Those sources are obviously biased though.
As opposed to the IDF sources you mean? Or are you being sarcastic? I can't tell.
As opposed to the IDF sources you mean? Or are you being sarcastic? I can't tell.
I didn't mention the IDF sources, and I didn't say they are unbiased, don't put words in my mouth. All I have said is that his sources are biased, and that is completely true.
You guys are blindly supporting a 3rd world country such as Iraq\Iran and etc, that's stupid.
Oh. Dear. God. No. This just opened up a large can of worms.
Lol.
Good, be a dumbass, I don't support israel at all, but it's fine cause the IDF are all fucking villainous scum who must be purged right, they're definitely not people doing their job are they? If the IDF hadn't fired before boarding then those people did indeed attack for no reason. Personally though, with Israel's track record I wouldn't put it past them to fire on the activists before boarding.
Also, they stated about how they were surrounded by HELOs and boats etc. as they fired into the ship, they panicked and thought they were going to die.
Those sources are obviously biased though.
As well as the IDFs claims. However, the activists panicking with all the IDF pressure by surrounding the boat with all sort of military vehicles is not.

Give me a couple of minutes, and I'll see if I can find it. edit:
Those sources are obviously biased though.
HOW!!! Explain to me how a source, relaying possible information, is obviously biased!!!
Oh. Dear. God. No. This just opened up a large can of worms.
That's the whole fun of politic threads :smug:
So, after they had been fired upon with apparently live rounds, who in their right mind would charge at soldiers with weapons, unless they had a deathwish / agenda?
They'd rather die fighting then to die on the spot.
Well, have you seen the live footage, taken by an Al Jazeera reporter before the IDF cut their communications? Give me a couple of minutes, and I'll see if I can find it.
The best video I have seen supporting their claims, was showing a reporter only saying that the IDF has shot at them, with gunshots in the background from time to time. The video was also edited ruthlessly, and you can't tell what part happened when, for example it shows a person who was supposably hit by gunfire coming from the IDF ships, but he might as well have been hit by gunfire coming from the commandos after they were attacked.
They'd rather die fighting then to die on the spot.
Which goes to prove they'd rather conflict then actually delivering aid to the desperate region?
They'd rather die fighting then to die on the spot. [editline]06:20PM[/editline] Nice one, you almost got me there.
Internet tough guy representing a pathetic anti-israeli avatar, man you'd get your ass beaten over here.
Which goes to prove they'd rather conflict then actually delivering aid to the desperate region?
I don't know about you, but people value their lives. [editline]06:24PM[/editline]
Internet tough guy representing a pathetic anti-israeli avatar, man you'd get your ass beaten over here.
Umm... I really don't know what to say?
I don't know about you, but people value their lives.
If they would have surrendered peacefully just like all other 5 ships none of them would have died.
I don't know about you, but people value their lives. [editline]06:24PM[/editline] Umm... I really don't know what to say?
Don't, would be better for us all.
I don't know about you, but people value their lives.
I value life too - which is why I think it's dire to make sure Israel do not over exaggerate the response needed to something like this - but why did they not deliver the aid through other methods? Why did they need to push through the blockade?
Of course the US would do that, god damn I hate my country more and more for supporting them.
Of course the US would do that, god damn I hate my country more and more for supporting them.
Me too, me too.
About that, did you read my earlier post addressing that?
You believe the aid wouldn't have got through...
Which goes to prove they'd rather conflict then actually delivering aid to the desperate region?
People tend to avoid harm. And honestly, if you're getting shot at I have a slight feeling that you're probably not thinking clearly. Can't say for sure though since I've never been shot at. Just saying.
You believe the aid wouldn't have got through...
So does pretty much anyone who is informed on the Israeli blockade. They stop cement for christs sake, justify that.
Any more questions?
I'm a pacifist and rather stay neutral, but since I'm living in a conflict-magnet country, I'm supporting this act.
You're an idiot.
You're an idiot.
no u
So does pretty much anyone who is informed on the Israeli blockade. They stop cement for christs sake, justify that.
IT COULD BE USED FOR CEMENT SHOEEEESSSS... seriously, this isn't about the blockade, which I personally do not agree to, however this is the result they wanted.
Part of the blockade is justified. I also don't understand why won't Israel let more food and supplies in, but I can fully understand what they want to search everything for weapons.
IT COULD BE USED FOR CEMENT SHOEEEESSSS... seriously, this isn't about the blockade, which I personally do not agree to, however this is the result they wanted.
No, I have a hard time imagining if the humanitarian activists wanted this. They wanted a confrontation to set lights on the blockade, sure, but no, I don't think any of them wanted people to be killed. If they weren't stopped, they would be able to deliver much needed aid to the Gazan population, so it was kind of a Win-Win-scenario. Besides, saying that "They got what they wanted" is not a way to justify what has happened.
