It was nothing more than a Band-Aid solution. We're only putting the nation in an even deeper hole for those who will inherit it after Obama is gone. I'm sorry, but Obama is a complete idiot.
Oh my, you seem to have a very unbiased and fact-based opinion! Instruct us on how we need to call Obama names!
All I heard him say in that speech was give more money to the teachers unions, and create "small company jobs" by apparently getting city workers to repave roads.

That would be because of your ADHD and Narcolepsy.

I hate to ask this question yet again, but did you even listen? There are components about putting construction workers back on the job, but the main points are more akin to providing tax incentives to companies that hire American workers, and having a payroll tax cut for the middle class.
I thought Conservatives were supposed to like tax cuts?
All I heard him say
who cares what you heard him say, he could have said "tea party supreme leader 2012" and you would have heard whatever you wanted to hear

This is also what makes whatever FOX news says so powerful.
Because if FOX news says, "This was a good speech," because that's what they heard and walked away with, that suggests how the Republican party is going to act in the next coming weeks.
So we are basically spending more is what I am getting at.

I'll say it one more time.

I would like to ask something... Is it possible too build a national pipe system which could transport water from say... Flooded Areas on the East coast too needy areas on the West coast? Somewhat relative too America's interstate system, but instead it would be transporting fresh water across the country too fuel agriculture, and give clean drinking water across the country.
Wow I'm a ignorant fuck when it comes to our countries 'representatives.'
Anyway, Biden seems like a cool guy just by his posture.
An American flag as an avatar and you don't even know who the vice-president is?
Wow dude.
This thread is so full of ignorance it's driving me insane.

How?
How?
Cutting more from the budget later this year.
They'll cut stuff like Medicare, Social Security, and other social programs before they cut a cent from the military.
This is why Obama's plan is shit. It cuts taxes AND cuts spending, which is a double whammy of bad ideas.

Cutting spending isn't a bad idea, you just need to be careful with what you cut in the first place.

One of the problems with how he plans on paying for this is that the cuts that will be made aren't even determined yet.
Nobody knows what the super committee is going to do, but the general consensus is that it won't cut the military, and it will probably cut NPR, Planned Parenthood, and anything else that isn't on the Republican's side.
If Obama was smart, he would have picked out what to cut himself instead of leaving it to the super committee to do whatever the fuck they want.
Ok so we are basically spending to re-arrange our budget priorities which will be paid for by something unknown to us yet.

Since the committee - which is a joke in and of itself, but regardless - is bipartisan, I don't think all of the Republican's whims will be kowtowed to. I think the Republicans will learn to budge; support for Obama's Act has been somewhat bipartisan atm, compared to other plans. Some Repubs find support and sense in the Bill, which is a good step in the right direction. Are the Republicans still going to win out on cutting? Probably. But I think that they'll have to bear their burdens too.

But it's obviously increasing spending. It's a spending bill.

Have you ever heard the phrase "You have to spend money to make money?"

If it cuts from the rest of the budget in equal numbers, we have net spending of $0, and the same people who paid for $447B in spending will be the ones who pay for $447B in spending. This is not hard to understand.
More than half of it is a revenue cut. And then they'll cut the budget even more to match the decrease in revenue.
The economical problems of USA have not been resolved, the current resolution is to loan more and more.
Edit: At some point, I doubt US can avoid the damage to quality of life.
snippity
relevant?
I mean that disaster on some level is imminent but people will still act outraged.
To be absolutely honest, I don't give a flying fuck if this bill increases the government's debt.
Because it will lay the foundation for some debt to at least get partially paid back some time in my goddamn lifetime.

It's as good a step as we can take right now.

one could argue the damage has been done already
