Hmm, if we could resurrect one of the Die Hard Communists such as Lenin, Stalin, or Mao, do you think they could deal with the drug problem in Mexico?
I don't follow your logic? [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] Well I don't know much about Lenin, but I guess Stalin and Mao would beat, torture, and execute every cartel member they captured (if they weren't shot on the spot). So maybe they could :v:
Ask someone who doesn't know anything about this crap, like a child, and get your answer or branch off from there. Of course it probably wouldn't work but hey. The hardest questions to answer are usually solved with a simple answer.
We(the USA) should just fucking invade mexico and push them back to south america. Since it's closer to home, costs would be less than Afghanistan where we wouldn't be going around the world. It sounds dumb, but it's really the only way to rid Mexico of cartel control. A blitzkrieg through mexico, looking for cartel members, arresting them and killing the ones that fight back, because eventually, the cartels will control mexico entirely and start creeping into the US. There's already a big problem with MS-13 in Cali and Texas, which they originated from Mexico. Of course, i mean after our economy recovers and a few years after we leave Afghanistan.

Mexico is a sad problem. It's probably not going to change from internal forces any time soon, but they won't ever want US intervention. We're not the nicest neighbor in the world, and we probably wouldn't do them any good anyway. It'd probably be a middle east situation where more people rise up because of the US presence.

The reason people "rise up" is because the Cartels pay them big bucks to do so. So if a foreign army intervened, the only way more people will stand up is if they're paid to. [editline]22nd March 2012[/editline] The main difference here is that Terrorist are driven by ideology, while the Cartels are driven by money.

What if everyone just stopped buying the stuff the cartels make money off?
What if everyone just stopped buying the stuff the cartels make money off?
They would lose all their business, but it won't happen because people like drugs.
What if everyone just stopped buying the stuff the cartels make money off?
If people stop buying drugs, the cartels will sell weapons, or people, or just their services. As long as there's any sort of conflict there is money to be made, at least I assume the cartels think that way. The only way to really get rid of them is to kill them, and that is evidently ineffective. Dammit, ninja'd.
