You aren't really mentally mature until around 21-25. That's why college kids are stereotyped as doing stupid shit. They aren't mentally mature yet.
I'd say that 18 is in the realm of doing stupid shit.

You have to be 25 before you realize assault is wrong?
No I'm pretty sure the age of majority is 18

exactly
why the fuck are people saying 'he was a kid let it go'
he was a high school senior, and knew what he was doing

college kids are stereotyped as doing stupid shit because you go to an institution where you live with a shit load of other college kids, and usually access to alcohol.
'mental maturity' being at 21 is utter bollocks
I'd say that 18 is in the realm of doing stupid shit.
uhh im pretty sure i would think doing shit like this would and should be jail time. you are traumatizing a person for life over shit like this. he was an adult and he would have been counted as an adult in court. stop defending him.
Be fucking reasonable. Everyone does stupid shit as a teenager. I can name plenty of instances of me being cruel.
To oppose gay marriage and the like as he does today is to express his beliefs in a more legitimate but still misguided and stupid way. I sincerely doubt he would redo the violence if he had the choice.
"everyone does stupid shit as a teenager" is not a legitimate argument because that's anecdotal as fuck. i sure as shit was never cruel to someone and i didn't hate or stereotype people in high school or before. maybe he wouldn't assault anyone (no peer support in doing so, couldn't get away with it) but he's pretty clearly still the same bigot.
Wow, Romney did something bad 50 years ago!? He definitely lost my vote!
Seriously, Romney is a terrible person but this story has nothing to do with that. Remember this and how nobody cared?
Holy shit so you rather hang out with the douchebag high school bully, or the cool guy smoking weed that everyone likes
i would smoke with obama if i could
i knew from like age 7 that assaulting people was wrong
it's obvious Mitt Romney was taught to dislike gays.
Holy shit so you rather hang out with the douchebag high school bully, or the cool guy smoking weed that everyone likes
I wouldn't want to hang out with romney or obama personally. I dislike both.
I'd love to hang out with Obama, that shit would probably be pretty fun.
Seriously though, I had one fight in school, and that wasn't even one I started. Guy always picked on me for being the shortest and youngest in our grade. He went after me one time and I just went off on him.
What Romney did is pretty abnormal for a kid in highschool and he obviously hasn't changed much. He's a piece of shit, plain and simple.
So it was abnormal to insult a gay kid back in the sixties? Seriously, you really think that?
Holy shit so you rather hang out with the douchebag high school bully, or the cool guy smoking weed that everyone likes
Pretty sure not everyone likes him, I know more people outside the US think he's an idiot then those who like him.
So it was abnormal to insult a gay kid back in the sixties? Seriously, you really think that?
you understand that "insult" and "assault" don't mean the same thing, right? because mitt assaulted that kid.
uhh im pretty sure i would think doing shit like this would and should be jail time. you are traumatizing a person for life over shit like this. he was an adult and he would have been counted as an adult in court. stop defending him.
okay, it was a crime and he would have gotten a few days/weeks in the slammer
a half century ago
okay, it was a crime and he would have gotten a few days/weeks in the slammer

i still fail to see why you're pointing out the time elapsed when we already understand that, we just recognize the story's relevance to his present day character.
okay, it was a crime and he would have gotten a few days/weeks in the slammer

he hated gays back then, and its obvious he hates them now.
You can argue that, but he's more mature than physically assaulting them. Not solely because of people keeping watchful eyes on him, as some in this thread declare, I'm sure.
You have to be 25 before you realize assault is wrong?
No I'm pretty sure the age of majority is 18
Age of majority has nothing to do with maturity. Age of majority as an arbitrary date where the state deems you to be psychologically mature, but doesn't have anything to really do with maturity.
You can argue that, but he's more mature than physically assaulting them. Not solely because of people keeping watchful eyes on him, as some in this thread declare, I'm sure.
He's matured to the point where instead of physically assaulting them he assaults their rights instead.

you're right. so instead of hurting them with assault, he rather take their rights away to torture them even more. fuck ninjas

I'm going to make an extreme example here.
That's like saying that Charles Manson should be let out of prison because what he did was decades ago.
I convinced some English kid that his parents were dead. So what?
I convinced some English kid that his parents were dead. So what?
not only are you a shitlord for doing something like that, that's not the same as physical assault so you're doubly fucking retarded
I convinced some English kid that his parents were dead. So what?
How old were you?
[editline]20th August 2012[/editline]
Actually, how old was the kid? Can't be very old to believe something like that...

breaking news: barack obama kicked a dog when he was 18, must be recurrent animal abuser lock him up
in other news all crimes are equal in consequence, according to megafat more at 11
the point with this incident is that if you were to ask mitt right now if he regretted doing what he did, given his strong anti-gay sentiment and the vibe that most people who are against him seem to get (that of pretty much being a prick), we are somewhat sure that he wouldn't say "I regret assaulting a person solely because they were gay"

but he didnt, so. . . .
also did you just compare kicking a dog to holding down a person and cutting their hair/insulting them?

im sure it would be something incredibly vague that isn't even a real apology and then he goes on talking about anti-homosexual sentiments still being valid
but he didnt, so. . . .

also did you just holding down a person and cutting their hair/insulting them to unrepentant octuple murder
