That's a bullshit tagalong by somebody, hence the "citation needed". We use 95 Ghz as radio in some applications and people have tried making wireless broadband links with it, it's harmless.

I've seen the cop at my school, a woman who gets things thrown at her for doing her job, run up and help kid who had just been beaten, curbstomped, and he was the biggest dick to her, and yet she went and helped him, doing her job. You think that giving good, honest cops, people with more moral intregrity then half of you, a weapon to help stop a crime, save lives and protect theirselves from a dangerous person who has no right to be angry at them, a bad idea? That developing a way to help prevent another London riot, blinding a running suspect, a bad idea? When it's your TV, your car, your wife that has been taken, destroyed or attacked, you can be happy to know that cops will be in short supply to the risk factor your insistent bitching has given to the job, because you believed that police don't need any weapons and should stand aside. Remember when we did that, took the weapons away from soldiers and let them stand aside and watch, some African country you might remember got pretty fucked up back in the 90's, and when this happens in your cities, on your streets, you can be damn proud you preserved and created those nice 'civil liberties' which stop people from protecting others because a few bad people gave cops a bad image, but heaven forbid a few bad protesters like those at the G20 create a bad image for all protests, right?
