Steven Universe is so good, the prospect of a show that good with adult-ish themes and good messages crossing over with Uncle Grampa completely fucking baffles me

Bring back Ed, Edd and Eddy you creatons
gravity falls is still pretty ace
Thats Disney...
Anyways, right now Regular Show, Adventure time, Steven universe, and Gumball are the only shows i enjoy right now on Cartoon Network. I wish they could go back and do reruns of Ed Edd and Eddy, goddamn that was my favorite show on Cartoon Network.
I assume Powerpuff Girls is going to be in that artstyle we saw last year from that special.
While I'm not a fan of that artstyle personally, the humor was all still there so I'll probably watch it anyway.

Hey kids, remember Teen Titans? That show that formed the basis for your future love of comics and basically exemplified what it meant to be a team for young people?
Well, fuck all that. Have a show where they literally want to murder each other every episode and have been flanderized to the point of being amazingly huge dicks- but I guess that's what you get when the showrunners of Go have stated they've never seen the original show! Do doy! Have more seasons of random humor instead of the delightful mature but never excessively grimdark adventures of your favorite characters or the continuation of other great cartoons like Young Justice, because the sad truth is, those just don't sell enough toys!
DC Animation! Because fuck you!

As someone who absolutely loved the original TT cartoon, mainly for the fact that the characters were extremely dynamic and the stories could vary so much between light and dark, every moment that TTGO exists is painful to me. It's like watching someone you love suffer a permanent brain injury inflicted by their insane parent, slowly rotting away until they're nothing but a lifeless vegetable wearing the face of who they used to be.
This is why you absolutely do not hand over rights to a beloved property to people with no knowledge of the original and with little experience in general. Also, this is a good example of why you don't want to try and reboot something without the original people at least advising, except in some cases.
I had no idea people didn't like Teen Titans Go. I feel like the people saying it's bad simply haven't watched it and judged it as so solely for not being the original series.
Don't get me wrong, I love the original Teen Titans, and Go doesn't stack up anywhere near it, but it's not supposed to. Teen Titans was a semi-serious story driven dramedy, and Go is a silly light hearted romp with the same characters that is basically never serious about anything. (and also mostly for kids) Everybody is acting like it's supposed to be a sequel or continuation or replacement of Teen Titans, and it's not. Like, at all.
They're not even comparable, and both are good for entirely different reasons.
(probably the best episode)

I miss Teen Titans as much as the next guy, but irrationally shitting on Go just because it's not Teen Titans 2: Electric Boogaloo is a little silly.

Nobody is acting like it's supposed to be a sequel--they're upset because it should have been. They're upset because previously well developed characters have been wasted. Really, they're unhappy because it ruins the image they had of an apparently great show. I haven't watched the series, but I've heard enough from these people to understand where they're coming from. It really isn't about what is, but rather, what could have been.

There are episodes of Go that were made specifically for the purpose of shitting on the original.
Which between that and the nonexistent comprehension of character has some people thinking that's the entire point of Go.
But honestly even if it wasn't a disaster of a remake it's still at best a preschool level comedy.

Oh god the good times.
It was amazing here in spain, because we got localization later than the rest our CN doesn't show that much crap.
That said, thinking of older cartoons I would love if they attempted to continue EE&E
Fuck it i'm too nostalgic right now, i'll get my DVD and play the original game for the PC, the game was shit, but I enjoyed it.
I personally enjoy The Amazing World of Gumball the most.
The animation and humour are top notch imo.
I personally enjoy Uncle Grandpa for my daily dose of stupidity. Teen Titans Go goes way too far and butchers one of my favorite old shows in the process.
Of course it goes without saying, Adventure Time and Regular Show are the shit. CN would have to be brain dead to not renew those shows.
PPG returning? Is this related to that reboot that aired last year? If so, I can see myself watching more of that if it has the charm of the original.
Also, can we officially say the Sonic Boom tv show has seen more success than the game? :v:

Just remember that while shows like Young Justice and Green Lantern got canned, Jhonny Test gets ANOTHER season.

I think the best thing about Uncle Grandpa are the transitions.
Replace the whip cracks with laugh track. :suicide:
Or maybe they do both. Laughter every three seconds, and in between it you get to hear the sound of them whipping the audience for not laughing hard enough.
I don't understand the Steven Universe crossover, the show has a huge overarching plot going on and the crossover wouldn't make any sense in that

Are you talking about the one joke where TTG re-used animation from the old show? Because other then that I don't know of any instance of TTG specifically making episodes (or at the very least jokes) to shit on the old show. And even then I think fans of the old show take that joke WAY out of context and assign a meaning to it the TTG writers never intended.
P.S. Before any of you go "Ew you like TTG!?" I am indifferent to it. I don't gush over it and go "OMG BEST SHOW EVER" nor do I get in a frothing rage over it and go all "THEY SHAT ALL OVER MY CHILDHOOD FOR A QUICK BUCK!!".
Would love if Sym-Bionic Titan came back. I remember that being pretty interesting. If I recall, it was only cancelled because of some toy company bullshit.
I don't understand the Steven Universe crossover, the show has a huge overarching plot going on and the crossover wouldn't make any sense in that
If I recall correctly, Kids Next Door had a storyline going on when The Grim Adventures of KND was made. I would imagine this crossover would probably work in the same way of just "borrowing" the world and characters in Steven Universe, rather than build on it or somehow stuff Uncle Grandpa into the storyline.
Honestly, I think it's kind of nice to see CN mess around with their shows and make crossover stuff again. Reminds me of the bumpers they made in the early 2000's with having all of their characters in a city environment, and how much fun it was just to see how the different characters and worlds interacted with each other.
I actually really enjoy Clarence. At first glance it seems like a trashy show, but it's surprisingly well written.
I actually really enjoy Clarence. At first glance it seems like a trashy show, but it's surprisingly well written.
I like the show because of the direction. It's basically the world seen through kid logic, and there are moments that remind me of when I was a kid. Clarence as a character can get a little annoying to me, but his role is the weird kid who gets the ball rolling is needed. The other characters are very well done especially when interacting with each other. The school setting with all the kids gives flashbacks of elementary school days with things like BS paper assignments on field trips, silly placement testing, and after school shenanigans.
I really like how diverse the CN line up is. I haven't watched Lego ninjago or Pokemon, but ever since they got rid of Johnny Test it's been pretty good. Teen Titans Go is on a lot, but I thought that was to build a following with the younger kids for eventual new comic book show content, not sure though. But as for everything else, Adventure Time is still solid, Regular Show still solid, Gumball has been great even with the new voice actors, and Steven Universe is finally getting the plot ball rolling. Uncle Grandpa isn't that bad its kinda like a sketch comedy style show where I find myself laughing at the character foils and transitions more than anything. Teen Titans Go is just something I leave on in the background, it has its good and bad moments.
Also, another thing I forgot to mention:
Wait what, Steven Universe + Uncle Grandpa, the fuck?
Chances are, it'll be a non-canon one-off that will have no bearing on SU's plot, or on UG's lack thereof. It'll probably also be complete and utter shit, and reviled by anyone who likes either show as "THAT episode, the worst of them all". Mashing such different shows together makes little sense, and the result frequently reflects the lack of cohesion.
Cartoon Network isn't the first to think of this kind of nonsensical mashup, lots of early-to-mid 2000s Disney cartoons mashed together their properties for single, non-canon episodes too. Almost every time, the result came out horribly, with clashing animation styles, character personality fuck-ups and nonsensical plot and world reasoning for the conjunction between the two or more shows.
Hell, just ask anyone who enjoyed Kim Possible or the Lilo & Stitch animated series when they were still airing about the crossover they had for an episode of the former, and watch the look of utter disgust creep across their face when they remember just how shitty and poorly-made it was.
These crossovers almost never work out well, but at the same time they're almost always tossed into the trash by fans and show staff alike, destined to be entirely forgotten except as joke fodder by fans and ignored entirely by the shows' continuity. Maybe CN will do a better job of it than Disney did last decade, but I seriously doubt it.

Here's an example of a weird-good crossover
Did Clarence make the cut?
yes.
I miss Courage and Samurai Jack. Both of their worlds were so interesting to me as a child. Ed, Edd, & Eddy was great too.
If only Samurai Jack got an ending to the show.
