Information should be free to the public. It is not the responsibility of the man publishing information to ensure the information is used for good. It's the responsibility of the information consumer to do that.
He deserved to get arrested for writing this.
Hm, I'm not sure why he was arrested. People should be able to write and publish anything that they want to.
agreed
No, but a 15 year old is close to the age of consent in many countries. A 16 year old is legally able to consent to sex in large number of places such as the UK, but it would be still be illegal for them to appear in porn in a equally large number of places (including the UK, natch).
And to be honest, the majority of 15 year olds aren't ready for sex, emotionally, despite what their raging hormones tell them.
do you happen to be a social conservative? or just a raging lunatic
Don't ask me. I didn't write the arrest warrant. They determined the book was probable cause that he has distributed CP. An unjustified leap of faith, if you ask me, but all I've been trying to do is tell people is he isn't going to be tried just because of the content of his admittedly creepy book.

"Gentle love" is not really a phrase with any weight when it comes to fucking kids.
Wrong, most child abuse stems from abusive and forceful actions. This book (if you read it) teaches otherwise.

Not. Even. Sure. How. To. Respond.

Perhaps it requires an open mind and past taboo, I don't think anyone should have sex with a child until they are able to decide at puberty (not a child anymore). However this man was arrested on the basis that he provided information for those who were going to commit the act anyway.

I agree with you
I'm lost and confused now...is this arrest good or bad?
I'm lost and confused now...is this arrest good or bad?
Bad.
I'm lost and confused now...is this arrest good or bad?
Why don't you read the article and determine all the facts of the case and come to an independent conclusion instead of relying on others to think for you.
Bad.
But really, this. It's an awful travesty of justice that he was even arrested/indicted.
What different way to look at it exists?
If they are dangerous criminals or normal people, common sense do you have it?
I wonder if he lists 4chan as a resource.

How does suggesting that many 15 aren't emotionally ready for sex make me either a social conservative, or a raging lunatic? Sounds somewhat like ad hominem, really. And some 15 years are ready to have sex, which is fine ,and practically all of them know about protection and such like, which is good.
In the end of the day, people should have sex when they feel they are ready to, after they know and understand what sex is, and the repercussions. The consent laws are in place to prevent children and some younger people having their innocence or naivity being abused by people significantally older than them.

sexuality is not an abomination or bastardization of nature. until you realise that, you are a lunatic

are you arguing that we should not have age of consent laws because that's certainly how it seems
are you arguing that we should not have age of consent laws because that's certainly how it seems
yes
Hahahah wow
[editline]20th December 2010[/editline]
And you're calling others lunatics
I think age of consent should be lowered to at least 14, thats when puberty either finishes or begins. It's entirely retarded that an 18 year old can be convicted for consensual sex with a 15 year old.

99.9% of the time the police have better things to do than bust kids who break half your age + 7 by a year

so they don't

I know in the UK you can't be convicted for that, many places have a age ruling where if there is a close enough gap, or if the older party is not above a certain age, you can't be convicted. So a 15 and a 18 year old isn't illegal, but a 10 year old and a 18 year old would be, for example.

I think it's usually a 2-year difference though, or it is around here.
are you actually defending a guy who wrote a book on how to fuck kids?
It's freedom of speech, not freedom of speech that you find appropriate.

Jump to 3 minutes.

Most countries add a bit of a buffer to the age of consent, like allowing 16 year olds to have sex with anyone within 2 years without breaking the law, despite the age of consent being 16.
A 15 year old can consent to having sex with a 16 year old, but not a 30 year old. I'm basing this on the fact that 30 year olds are seen as someone in a position of trust to a 15-yo, while a 16-yo is just a friend.
If he had CP, then he deserves to be locked up. If he was a sick bastard that just wrote a really... off book, then his choice and he should never have been so much as bothered by any official.
but I will defend to the death his right to say it.
Except you wouldn't.
I'm just going to assume that the undercover cops asked him for child porn to which he didn't budge.
Oh good god.
