FDR was able to do shit because we rebuilt our economy with WWII victories and were long overdue for a revival with the Great Depression. Getting another world war to boost the economy is impossible due to nuclear weapons being able to end everything in a single day.
wat. He did a lot of great work before the Second World War even began. The war certainly helped but he didn't exactly cause it. You should read up about his policies before 1941, specifically the New Deal.
Oh so now you're going to try and take the piss out of me because I'm a "leftist"? Tolerance doesn't mean "You can advocate for rape, and I'll stand behind you.". That's your line. Tolerance to me means that if you say something rude or upsetting, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. If you keep doing it, as Trump has, you lose that tolerance. But nah, go ahead, make a pathetically weak attempt at a joke by going down the road of "be more tolerant of rape"
I didn't say those things. Please stop putting words in my mouth. I think you may be taking this a little personally.
because jerks are trigger happy idiots why do you think me and ehmmett aint mods yet
I'm sorry, I don't keep track of FP culture enough to get this reference.
Permaban me if this palooka wins the election, Christ.
Me too
i swear to god if he somehow wins after this, i really won't fucking know what's going on
All you need to know about 2016 right now is: Clowns in the woods. Clowns in the streets. Clowns running for office.
If you compare Trump's poll numbers to the exchange rate for Pound Sterling, you'll finally understand what he meant by "they'll call me Mr Brexit!"
Are the mods getting these toxxes
Change doesn't start with digging through old recordings made over a decade ago and criticizing the things being said based on just that.
It's not based just on that. It's based on a whole slew of other things he's said more recently. This older evidence of the same behavior is just a reinforcing idea that he has not changed in over a decade.
FDR was able to do shit because we rebuilt our economy with WWII victories
So the New Deal either didn't happen or didn't contribute to the economy's revival?
You have a bafflingly shallow outlook on society and life in general, and it is either caused by your neurotic nature or your lack of experience. But one thing is certain, that the things that were being said in that video are completely, and utterly mild. It may trigger you, it may come as a shock to you, but this is normal "guy-talk", for lack of a better word. It's not how "criminals" talk. It's a man who lusts for a woman and conveys this lust to his friend in a vulgar manner. Welcome to social discourse 101. Sometimes people develop different mannerisms than you did, and they may either appear disgusting or charming to you, but that doesn't make them horrible human beings. It doesn't matter if he's a candidate for presidency, unless he's a committed sexual felon, he should not be regarded as such based on some things he said 11 years ago that weren't even malicious in nature. And no, "grab her by the pussy" is not malicious in nature. It's immature, it's in bad-taste, but it isn't anything more than that and it is not meant to be taken literally. You are simply using this incident to further demonize Trump because you don't support him whatsoever and this is a really convenient thing to get angry about. Trump is unfit for presidency because of his policies and a very long list of other things. This incident is at the bottom of that list.
Whatever you say pal. Assume away. You're wrong, but assume away.
Holy shit, he sounds like a red piller, although sleezy misogynists are sorta the norm in yuppie culture which is what he was part of.
Also maybe I will run for president and then people will dig up my FP posts that I apparently advocate rape ect ect
nobody is saying that all im saying is "grab her by the pussy" doesn't do good for a professional image it is normal to bant about girls to friends and i dont think anybody is disputing that
I don't think its possible this far in the election and with the media coverage to not have an idea of what Trump stands for.
He stands for the advancement of his own personal gain and literally nothing else, and you cannot prove otherwise

So wait, you guys are telling me you don't hang out with married 60 year old men who boast about sexual assault?
Nothing like a sex scandal to slam down a man's political career. To cite an obvious French example, Dominique Strauss-Kahn's legal troubles regarding a maid who offered him sexual services and then claimed rape (and the fact it revealed a very promiscuous, libertine lifestyle that his wife was fully aware of) completely killed his chance at running for president some years ago. However, in this situation, I'm not actually sure how much of an impact this would have - Trump having some really obscene discussions with others in private isn't very likely to convince anyone to change their minds on the election. It's not like he particularly appeals to the branch of conservative voters who actually care about promiscuity or lewdness.

If Jeb! were the nominee and this happened it would be pretty easy to say its the end of his campaign. This is obviously damaging to Trump's campaign but a lot of his supporters still don't give a fuck, and there's still two major debates left to pull the biggest reversal in history or hammer in the final nails in the coffin for his presidential run. I don't know about most people here but I sort of make it a priority to avoid people who consider "guy-talk" to be disrespecting women in a way that sounds incredibly predatory. I mean idk that's just me tho.

At most, this will influence religious voters who are on the fence, and there's not a lot of those because as far as I'm aware Trump's failed to capture the attention of the religious voters anyhow. If anything will shoot down his chances, it's stuff that he said in the past few weeks and in the weeks to come, not obscure conversations from a decade ago.
Found this on Reddit. Paul Ryan is supposed to be campaigning with Trump tomorrow. This is his latest tweet:
can't wait for the next debate.
Have you ever worked outside of an office
yes and i didn't hear it there it looks rather bad for trump when biscuit factory workers who immigrated from poland talk in a slightly more dignified manner than the guy running to become the ruler of your country
I'm also not sure whether this'll be used in the next debate or not considering it'd be very easy for Trump to retort by citing Bill's sex scandals. It's an easy hit with an easier retort, but Hillary's said dumber shit so frankly I'm curious to see how that'll pan out.
Have you ever worked outside of an office
I worked in a large sports centre for two years and I never heard that kind of shit between two working colleagues
Smurfy I know you're having fun over there but the quality-posting isn't adding much to the discussion
that's the infinite darkness of space calling the kettle black

Those who didn't make it well through high school or college and went straight into work talk more like this, especially in male-dominated fields like construction or shipbuilding. Its the equivalent of shitposting at work. Guys get away from their wives and girlfriends and take off their filter around their guy friends, similar to frat life. Probably the most disturbing thing is that they don't realize their language is demeaning to women, and I don't think its intentional even if it comes off that way.
