Then by your logic no one should be able to dislike anything ever
I hate critics. Why don't you try to make a better movie? Why don't you try to make a better meal? You can't.
And i hate people who say this.
He's right, and I think Bam over time may realize that, but what can you expect from someone that grief stricken.
Him being a star of a show I like obviously overrides the fact he was doing something fucking retarded.
Such display of blind worship is detestable.
I dunno it felt kind of like a clever pun
plus it's not as bad as that guy who posted "Dunn died as he lived, with car parts up his ass"
it's insensitive because we don't even know if dunn was drunk driving in the first place
it's insensitive because we don't even know if dunn was drunk driving in the first place
it's pretty goddamn obvious he was
just the kind of mature response you'd expect from bam margera
As if anyone in this thread would be more mature at a time like that.
It is pretty shitty that he died, he was a pretty funny dude and all that. But his star status does not excuse the fact he was drink driving. Unfortunately he paid the ultimate price for his stupidity and lost his life, at the same time he took someone else's life.

I mean look at that scrap, he was going high speed. Excessive and irresponsible. I guess he dunn fucked up
As if anyone in this thread would be more mature at a time like that.
well, if it happened to me i can say for sure i wouldn't say anything like that... because i wouldn't be on twitter looking for what people have said about my dead friend!
Roger Ebert is such an arrogant prick sometimes
valid message, but shit, what the fuck does he even have to do with it? you don't walk up to someone who's just lost their parents and say "Oh, well, it was their fault, deal with it"
i'd understand if he'd managed to collide with another car killing its driver but shit
valid message, but shit, what the fuck does he even have to do with it? you don't walk up to someone who's just lost their parents and say "Oh, well, it was their fault, deal with it"
That's not even remotely comparable to what he did. He just posted a simple tweet on Twitter.
He's a fucking film critic. Why is everyone getting so worked up over a simple comment that somebody *completely irrelevant* made
It's like half of everyone is missing the obvious play on words with Dunn's involvement in Jackass. His message isn't insensitive, it's just not blatantly obvious.
RIP to Dunn and condolences to friends and family, but Ebert's message is just as sound.
Dunn was drinking heavily, and he shouldn't have been allowed to drive.
I can't help but think it's an overreaction. While it is unquestionably tasteless to make a joke at the expense of a deceased person, the joke that Ebert made wasn't terribly offensive (certainly not as offensive as some of the jokes circulating at present). I'm more offended by the fact that it's a shit joke.

I have a feeling that part of the rage comes from the fact that he's completely irrelevant.
roger ebert's a bad critic anyways
o sorry i couldn't hear all you guys disagreeing with me over
"Fight Club" is the most frankly and cheerfully fascist big-star movie since "Death Wish," a celebration of violence in which the heroes write themselves a license to drink, smoke, screw and beat one another up.
what an awful critic he gave the star wars prequels 3.5 out of 4 stars lmao

One or two slipups does not change the fact that he generally has thoughtful and well-researched opinions.

a passenger did die
that was not a slipup that was a massively wrong and uninformed review
that was not a slipup that was a massively wrong and uninformed review
because opinions can be wrong

I don't know, his blog about how video games can never be art didn't exactly come across as stunningly well researched.
because opinions can be wrong
yeah except the review is also factually incorrect
I don't know, his blog about how video games can never be art didn't exactly come across as stunningly well researched.
He later said that he was dumb and shouldn't have said anything.
yeah except the review is also factually incorrect
wait which one are we talking about the fight club one or the star wars prequels
i'm talking about fight club but his star wars reviews are atrocious as well
and don't give me that "opinions can't be wrong" bullshit- we shouldn't have professional critics if that were the case

ah right I thought you were talking about the star wars one. yeah I sort of agree with you there. but still, an opinion is never wrong. it might be badly-researched or poorly articulated, but it is always an entirely subjective construct
just the kind of mature response you'd expect from bam margera
Read the twit. "Crying hysterically for a full day." No one is capable of much rational thought when grieving heavily due to such a colossal lost. I'd say his response is well in bounds, giving his current state.

well then his opinions on the star wars prequels are based on poor logic
i mean, the first line of his first prequel review sets the stage quite nicely
If it were the first "Star Wars" movie, "The Phantom Menace" would be hailed as a visionary breakthrough
Don't forget that Dunn wasn't the only one in the car.
I don't feel the Dunn deserved it or anything but Ebert is right. It's hard to have a ton of sympathy for someone who drives drunk. Better him than anyone else on the road, in my opinion.
There is nothing wrong and insensitive about what Ebert said. He was drinking and driving, which is very serious and he even made a pun about Dunn's involvement with Jackass, he wasn't trying to be insulting.
And even if he was, why do people care so much?
