And the article didn't mention that lionfish are lethal? Aah.
Fish is good for you, and in this case, good for the ecosystem. I guess it's time to take a break from Salmon and start grilling Lionfish.
so basically fish tacos
I'd rather just eat the poison.
"These non-native fish are undergoing a population explosion, they are voracious predators, reproduce quickly, and threaten commercially important species, such as snapper and groupers. They have the potential to eat their way through and dramatically alter the ecosystem,"
Kinda sounds like us.
Kinda sounds like us.
Predatory Marijuana?
They're rarely fatal. Though they can give you a hell of a time. Depending on the size, it can be anything from a numb/tingly arm, to throwing up constantly, excruciating bodily pain. There's a special way to hold them where you slide your hand over the face, pushing down all the spines so they can't stick you. Kinda like holding a catfish.
If it's painful as getting stabbed by a bay-catfish spine, I don't want to get near them, or eat them.
God damn it i've always wanted to see one of these and right when i move out of Florida they invade :(
I just finished feeding my lionfi-
So are Lionfish unncessary?
They're non-native, invasive in the US. I think they're native to the Indies/Pacific area. So basically, if you're in the US, eat as many as possible. If you're in the Pacific, take note of the populations before mass hunting.
looks tasty i can't wait to have some lionfish meat :buddy: (Floridian here)
that looks MOTHERFUCKING DELICIOUS
If it's painful as getting stabbed by a bay-catfish spine, I don't want to get near them, or eat them.
That's why we need to kill them. If we don't, they will end up filling our coastal waters. We won't be able to go wading without getting swarmed by starving, emaciated Lionfish. Eat or be eaten!
